Alternative term for "detailing"....

Responsibility.

Caring for you stuff.

Only bung holes spend $$$$$ on a car and not take care of it.

Yet not a week goes by that the hordes of "bung holes" line up to drive through their local spin and scratch carwash without any thought what so ever of what it does to their vehicles.

Some of y'all remember my story from this spring about my buddy Mike. His wife's Lexus had NEVER seen anything even CLOSE to polish, much less compounding. Their idea of "wax" was what comes out the nozzle at the local car wash.

Even though he worked side by side with me for over 9 hours, knowing it had (even with his lazy approach) a good 15 man hours of labor in it, he NEVER thought it was anywhere near acceptable for someone to spend that amount of time on a vehicle.

My question to him was "What is the second most expensive thing you ever bought in your lifetime?", without question he said "My cars". When I asked them then, "Why then wouldn't you work to protect your investment?", his reply.... "Well *she* keeps it washed".

When I then told him that in my experience, clean, well maintained vehicles (the paint and interior of course, because the mechanicals should ALWAYS be maintained) I have found will ALWAYS bring 10% or more on resale or trade and I have the numbers to back it up. When the paint is as it SHOULD BE, and doesn't look like THIS (what his did before correction) he just shook his head in disbelief. :dunno:
