I have read many posts on ARO and finally ordered a gallon. Tried it on the daughters 02 ZX2 Escort with painted alloy wheels. I had been using Bleche-White on the tires. ARO blew away all expectations. I wet the tires and rims and applied full strength. I used a soft bristle brush then rinsed. The tires and rims look better than ever and grime that seemed impossible to remove is now gone. Topped the tires with 303 and couldn't be happier with the outcome of ARO. Should have tried it years ago. Just wanted to post the results, if you have not tried ARO you need to add it to your list.

Great cleaner. You did the right thing by wetting the tires and wheels first, as ARO is water activated.

Yep... ARO is amazing indeed. I am baffled by some folks who placed it in the "overrated" and "did not meet expectations" thread. Perhaps they weren't using it as directed.

So hooray for reading directions?

I never read the instructions at Christmas putting all the toys, bikes etc. together. Sometimes the manufacturer did throw in some extra parts tho:xyxthumbs:

wait till you find all the other uses for ARO around the hose. Got any outside furniture ??

Newbie here .... ARO? Did a search on Autogeek store and got nothing. Thanks for the education ... learning stuff on here everyday.

No outside furniture in Arizona for me. I go out to use the barbecue, i do not necessarily want to be the barbecue. I can see the potential uses such as diluting and using for walls doors etc.

How would ARO compare to other wheel cleaners such as P21S, DP, and Sonax? I'm thinking if I should try something else instead of ARO or if ARO is just as good as it's really economical and can be used as a tire cleaner as well.

ARO is an excellent tire cleaner.:props:

It sounds like a great product but I do have a few questions that come to mind.

  • Will it remove the wheel wax I just applied?
  • I wonder how it compares to Meguiar's Wheel Brightener?
  • I wonder how it compares to Meguiar's APC+?

i use ARO for everything, even on bad wheels, ARO at 4:1 or 5:1 is the hardest i ever need. i use it 10:1 or 20:1 for 90% of things.

Use it 20:1 on your engine (10:1 on really bad spots}! then top it off with Stoners More Shine!!

If you havent used ARO on an entire vehicle, try it once! It works really well at 15:1 or 20:1 and cover an entire motorcycle with it, let it sit for a few min, brush as needed, then hose off. works wonders!!

Having never used it and only from what I'm reading here; a couple of posts say that this product is "water activated". If diluting it with water as you state does this diminish it's performance? Does water really activate it then?

Is ARO only for wheels and tires or is it a general purpose APC like Meg's APC+, Optimum Power Clean and Simple Green? If it is an APC, how does it compare to the three I just mentioned?

I have some ARO. I used it only once so far but did not seem like anything special. I plan to test it again on my nasty riding lawn mower.

Water activates it, but it loses it's cleaning properties if stored with water. So you gotta use all of your mixture up (or waste it).

I don't see the point in diluting it though, just spray the surface you are working on with water and then spray ARO on it.

I've only used it for tires/wheels/wheel wells, but it works pretty well.
