a few years back After watching another Ammo NYC video, i decided to try lather, larry's interior cleaner. I loved it back then, and used it to rescue the interior on an old truck I bought at the time. More recently, I used it to clean my new car interior prior to apply c6 matt dash. It reminded me how much I like it so I thought I would post a review.
It Lathers!
As the name suggests, its very easy to work this into a nice foamy lather using a brush. Other products will lather, like KCX asc or poll start, but this is super easy. I like the lather because I can track where ive been, and it quickly shows the dirt lifting off.
Cleaning power:
I think ammo shines in this category, it quickly removes dirt, even deeper embeded dirt, when using a brush, and if teamed with a steamer it works wonders. It is NOT an apc, and does not clean like one, but it does out do all of my QIDs and interior cleaners, except maybe polstar with a stronger dilution (1:10 or so)
Material friendlyness:
Ive used ammo on all of my interior surfaces except screens and glass. I do tend to prefer a dedicated leather cleaner for my seats and wheel, but for quick cleaning ammo can and does work well for leather.
Scent:
To me it smells almost like Baby powder, but not quite, its a hard scent to place but i find it pleasent. Scent is subjective so YMMV
When do I use it?
I keep Lather on hand for tougher jobs, or for cleaning unprotected surfaces prior to protection. It is gentle, but for something like cleaning the trim in my now protected GTI, ill reach for a higher dilution of polstar since its easier to control the strength. Its also much cheaper.
Value:
here is the rub. Lather isnt cheap, and its even less convenient to order. Many other products offer bulk sizes and easier shipping options. That is the main reason I keep it as a once in a while product and not my daily cleaner.
Bottom line, if you haven't tried Lather, i think its worth it.
