Second time in a row I've been burned. Placed an order last thursday, just notified yesterday (tues) about one of my items on backorder.

This is the second time in a row this has happened. I'm not as mad that an item is on backorder (stuff happens, it's cool), but do you guys not keep inventory onhand of this stuff??? I was told they don't find out if they have it until they go to pull it. Kinda seems like a poor inventory system if you ask me.

And they have held the rest of my order, instead of shipping it out and then finding out later what they (the customer) want to do. Seriously??? Ship my main order, then come back and ship out the backorder later if you can get it. If you have to pay double shipping, tough love. I'd have to make a double trip to a customers house if I forgot something (paper mats for an interior detail is my worst).

If a guy was out, why do you not have someone stepping up to fill in? I can't be the only person/business here that works on a schedule. I don't need things next day, but surely 5 days is a bit much. Why is it taking 3 business days and a weekend to finally contact the customer about their order? I let my customers know immediately (or the next business day on weekends) that an item is out or I am booked. I don't wait 3 days and a weekend to finally get back to them.

I am guessing I need to start looking at other places that sell these products. I'll pay a bit more to start getting my items on time, or to be notified in a reasonable amount of time when they can't be.

Sorry if this is a bit of a rant, I've just had over a year of great service from AG, and since January, I've been let down with both orders I have placed (the first one was eventually fixed but still).

That sounds weird. I have had several orders that included item(s) that were on back-order and the in stock items shipped as usual. I have had to follow up on BO items but that's not as big-a-deal.
I'm sure AG will make this right for you, and work on making their inventory system more efficient.

We took care of you last time and we'll take care of you this time as well. :dblthumb2:

I apologize for the inconvenience but I believe you were offered a generous upgrade on the towels when we originally contacted you. If we don't have something in stock you can bet we'll upgrade you to something better at no charge, just as I did with your recent Dodo Juice order.

We have a full staff of top-notch customer service representatives standing by six days a week. The forum isn't the best place to get order concerns resolved in a timely manner. A quick phone call is all it takes; you'll be taken care of before you can even type up a post. :dblthumb2:

Again, talk to AG customer service. If I remember correctly your last issue was fixed. Nick already beat me to it.

I will have to agree with Nick on this. If you call they have always taken care of my problems. They know where in the customers services business and we need our products as fast as we can get them. Customer service is everything to me if they had crappy customer service I would never order from them.

AG has great Customer Service and Nick is a rockstar at rectifying your situation.

Be thankful when something is on BO, AG will call you to upgrade at no cost. I once had a milk man that when he was out of a particular product, he would substitute it with something I didn't want and if it was more he would just charge me more for the substitute... I ended up with a lot of apple yogurt.. of course I asked for the Michael Westen Blue Berry special.

.....and now you know the rest of the story, good day!

AG has some of the best customer service there is. But, the OP does have a valid point concerning their inventory tracking. Live inventory tracking would make backorders easier to deal with as we would know when ordering instead of days later. This isn't reflective on the customer reps as they are just using the system they are given.

It's not that I really want an upgrade, I'd just rather get my products or be notified a bit earlier. I would be the happiest customer and do what customers do best, order from you again. I guess this is just aggrevating me due to it being the second time. Yes the last order was a great upgrade and I appreciate the promptness that you guys showed once I brought the issue up.

I just canceled the microfiber towel's that were back ordered. Might place another order with you guys later, hopefully that one will go through with the AG professionalism that I was use to.:xyxthumbs:

You still have a milk man. Does your milk come in glass bottles with a cardboard cap?

Placed an order Sunday afternoon and received confirmation Tuesday ill have it on Friday. I'm happy with that.

One thing is though, I was a little scared of ordering one odd ball item ( 3' hose for for Metro Air Force) due to fear it may not be in stock and it could delay my order.

However, I've placed about 25 orders in the past year with AG, and only had one delay. So, that's pretty good. Never had a mistake or omission in the order, and never received anything damaged.

So you remember this Ron?

So do I!! :props:

We used to get glass 1/2 gallons and quarts and they did have the cardboard caps....We used to have a metal milkbox on the front porch. In the winter you had to be sure to bring them in otherwise they'd freeze...

Yeah Bobby and did those metal milk boxes have dividers in them. Did you play with the milk covers and trade them? These younger guy's are saying what the hell are these guys talking about.

I know what you are talking about.

remember it like it was yesturday......I was the king of the milk covers......and I'm just a youngster compared to you and Bobby :D

Yes they did!

The milk-boxes we had were galvanized steel and if I remember correctly they had some sort of insulation between the inner box and outside skin. I'll bet the case thickness was about 3/8 total.

I remember collecting those covers and remember having two types. Once cardboard cover actually pushed into place and had a small tab you pulled to open it.

The other type we had was a paper/cardboard cover that actually crimped around the glass lip. From what I recall they were different colors and I remember green, white, and red. In the center of these were white cardboard inserts we used to remove...

Ahhhh, the good old days!!

I like how I turned this conversation to milk! Unfortunately guys, I am still a young whippersnapper, never had the joy of glass bottles and cardboard tops! Only came in plastic 4L and cardboard 2L.
