I think I've narrowed my choice down to a green works pressure washer. My options are a 1,600 psi or 2,000 psi pressure washer. Will a higher pressure produce more foam? Is gpm a big factor? Also, do I really need a soap that's designed for a foam cannon? I use optimum soap and I didn't want to buy something like chemical guys honeydew if I don't have to. Thanks!

my power washer is 1700 psi @ 2.3 gallon per minute, and its more than enough for a foam cannon..

Remember that once you have a power washer you will want to do your garage floor, decks, patio furniture, etc.....for that stuff you will want 2000 psi.

If you only plan on doing your car, 1600 is more than enough, but i think you will want your extra psi when doing other jobs around the house

As of now this will only be for washing my truck. I assume 2,000 psi is safe to use as long as I'm smart with it. Any experience with soaps that aren't "specifically designed" for foam cannons?

I use a greenworks 1600 1.2gpm that I just got a weeks or so ago. It replaced a Greenworks 1500 1.3gpm. I can't tell any difference between those two.

I'm not sure that a 2000psi 1.2 will do any better than a 1600psi 1.2. From what I've read, you want more gpm when increasing the psi to make for better cleaning.

As the others have stated, 1600 1.2 is plenty for the cannon. Here are two videos with my old Greenworks 1500psi, the MTM Foam Cannon specific to lower pressure electrics (model 14.0349 for up to 2600psi), and Chemical Guys Mr. Pink.

Never mind the portrait mode. I was a fool and failed to shoot in landscape mode.
