Hello all,
I am a new member to the site. I have been a car nut for many years now, but was always more focused on performance and racing rather than appearance. Don't get me wrong; I always took pride in cleaning and maintaining my vehicles. However I have never really gone into the depth of cleaning/detailing that I saw on this site. I have usually been more a wash and AIO guy, but since discovering this site I am branching out and trying some new products and methods. Being in the military I don't have the time (or budget) that I used to have for performance mods, but I can manage to be more thorough with detailing. That and I just bought a brand new truck, so I want to take care of it the right way from the beginning.
In the theme of trying new things I just got done claying my first car. I had always been a bit skeptical, and honestly a bit nervous about clay bars, but the reading I did here gave me enough encouragement to try it out. After trying it this past weekend it was not too bad. I am not done polishing yet, so I can't speak to the finished product, but so far so good. I definitely noticed an improvement in the surface of the paint.
In addition to claying I also ordered the forum favorite kit. I have read a lot of good reviews on the Klasse and Pinnacle products, so I am looking forward to trying them out.
