Hi,
I accessed this site to get further information on the how's and why's of proper machine polishing techniques and equipment. I received a Porter-Cable 7424XP as a Xmas gift along with a velcro backing plate, an assortment of Lake Country pads and never having used one, felt I must learn from scratch.
I have three cars that I want to use these methods on; my wife's 2011 Avalon, my 1980 Lincoln Mark VI and my 2006 Cadillac XLR, all of which are in excellent condition and I want to keep them that way. I decided that I can't do much worse than the so-called detailers that I've encountered over the last few years; it seems they are "professionals" in name only, use inferior products and do not do what I would consider a true detailing job.
