How do the professionals or used car dealers vacuum interior carpets leaving vertical or horizontal 4 inch stripes? Is that a special kind of vacuum or a powerful ShopVac will work?

Small vacuum head and practice making straight strokes in one direction. Janitors and cleaning people do the same thing for office carpets. It's mostly about practice and focusing on the task at hand.
