hi guys and girls just new in here and have been detailing for 15 years our paints are hard in australia wish we had your cars down here, your paints are much easier to deal with.

Welcome to AutoGeek...man 15 years that's wicked. So why are the vehicles clear coat down under so hard? Any particular reason for them being so hard? Just wondering....what brand of vehicles do you guys get?

Do you detail on the side, or just do it as a hoby or do you detail as a profesion?

Sorry for all the questions, hope you don't mind me asking.

Nica our cars are subjected too harsh u.v. rays and our clear coats from the car manufacturers are much harder, yes I detail cars proffessionally using mostly european buffers and american wool pads;foam pads and polishers unfortunately I can't mention them on your forum. We don;t do high speed buffing at all in my business,we have developed a system of marrying the buffing machine with the right pad and the right polish so you aren't continually changing machines and pads and different polishes. We guarentee a swirl free/buffing marks free job everytime. We do all BMW.S MERCS high end sports cars dark colours we love.cheers pete

Welcome Mate. Good to have another Aussie on board. Where are you situated?

Welcome to AG!! It sounds like you worked on an amazing car. 500 HP wow :D.

klumzy when we started it up to move it into the detailing bay the ground shook.

Pete, I'm on the leafy North Shore of Sydney. Just an amateur but a car nut through and through. Welcome to AG!

Welcome aboard .Looking forward to seeing some of your work on those nice cars.

Welcome Pete good to see more aussies on board

Don't have the same experience with this hardness as you Pete.
All the cars I've worked on are quite soft. UV doesn't make paint hard, but soft.

Maybe your working on the ceramiclear painted european cars
Also, why change machines. My makita variable speed is what I use although the PC is there when I feel like playing around on family cars
What do you class as high speed buffing
My working speeds are 600 to 1450rpm
