Another Pads Question

So I'm going to take advantage of the Father's Day sale and buy me a griots garage polisher and was going to buy a 6 pack of pads to go with it and wanted to see what pad choice you guys would go with

I will be doing swirl removal with Meg's 105 and 205 and also applying glazes and waxes so I was thinking about getting:
Yellow
Orange
Grey
Red
Gold

What do you guys think about my pad selection should I get more of one? Or not get others? I dunno I just want something to start me out

Assuming you're talking about LC CCS pads, I'd personally replace the gold with white.
 
The Hydrotechs are a great way to go too. Arguably a better choice if you're just starting out. Just make sure you don't clean them and seal them in ziplock baggies after they're "dry" like I did... After a few days mine started growing fuzz and I had to throw them out because they wouldn't come clean. Note, this isn't necessarily specific to Hydrotechs... It can happen to any pad. They did work great though!

Yep lc ccs pads so ill replace the good with white, should I double up on one of the colors? Or pick another pad?

Also should I get the Wolfgang pad conditioner and cleaner or the black fire?

I personally like to have at least two of each color, but its not entirely necessary. If you had to pick a just a couple to double up, I'd go with the white and grey.
 
Either cleaner/conditioner would be fine. Doesn't really make a difference. It's possible that Wolfgang cleaner is better on Wolfgang products and vice versa for BlackFire, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that.
 
For polishing pads, I would suggest 3. For finishing (like LC Black), you usually you need 1 or 2. Clean pads work better. You do not need the red/gold unless you want to apply LSP's by machine so if I was just getting 6 I would just pads for polishing and finishing. A good set could be 3 orange, 3 white, 2 black and 1 red for applying LSP's.

Thats what i would do. Yellow pads ard very aggressive. I think starting out you should avoid them until you have some experience. The orange and white are the bread and butter.

If you really want to stick with 6, then get 2 orange, 2 white, one black and one red.
 
I've had good results with the Orange with compound, and the white or green for polishing. The white seems to be the most versatile. I even use the white for my all in one products. I think I have a total of four now.

The Hydro Techs sound interesting. If I had to do over, I'd probably buy the HT's. Wait, there's a sale? ;-)
 
Yea in pretty set on buying 6 was gonna get the hole package deal for 6 it seems to be the best way to get a bunch of pads for cheaper, also I'm coming from just having a rotary polisher so I do know a bit about polishing its just time to switch to a da and a nice da not the cheap harbor freight rotary I have, so ill give you guys a pic when I get everything

If you're coming from a rotary, I'd highly suggest spending the extra coin and going with the Flex 3401 VRG. I'm afraid you might end up becoming frustrated when the pad stops rotating on a "conventional" DA like the Griot's. If that's not a concern, then the Griot's is a fine DA. I myself still use my PC 7424 XP and Griot's 3" after buying my Flex, but occasionally become annoyed with their "limitations". Yes, I know it's a matter of technique, but still…

I'd love to have the flex but just don't have the budget for it I have patience when it comes to my cars paint so I'm not to worried about the pads stopping, also this is is why I'm choosing the griots over the pc because oh the extra power
