No love for quality American made bikes or local business?
The best bike components in the world won't do you any good unless they are properly adjusted, and you'll never enjoy riding a bike that doesn't work properly or fit you.

The seat will eventually be "comfortable"

And as everyone says, it is all about the fit. And don't skimp on the bike. Something around $1000 range will get you Shimano 105 level components and a good frame that will last. I am still riding my $1200 bike that is a 2004 model, and it still rolls just fine

And get a helmet. If you ride on any multi-use paths or roads, it isn't your cycling you always have to worry about. It is other people such as random kids and cars. Stuff beyond your control. The helmet will protect your head from any incidents!
