I've seen products that claim to be great for black paint and dark colors (not sure why that would be, but that's what they say). Wondering if people have found any (wax, polish, detail) products that work particularly well for white paint? Or does it vary by different manufacturer's white paint and clearcoat?

From Jason @ Deep Gloss Auto Salon: Duragloss 501 marine polish, then 1 part 601 bonding agent mixed with four parts 111 clear coat, then AquaWax.

from rwight: "105 has light cleaners in it, 111 has no cleaners. 111 is also a little finicky with humidity in my experience. 501 can be used as a paint cleaner. it really pulls out grime like you wouldn't believe but leaves a layer of protection behind. you may see it excel on white because of the grime that it pulls out of paint. if you use 601 then 501, within 2 hours you can top with 105. add 601 before 105 and it will be cured within 2 hours. do a final wipe with aqua wax and you won't believe the finish."

from richy: "I've had a few large vehicles to do lately and did not want to take the time to do both 601 and 105 so I spoke to Jerry at Duragloss and he suggested I combine the 2 in a 4 to 1 ratio of either 501 or 105 at 4 parts and 601 at one part. I bought a couple of cheap dollar store plastic ketchup dispensers and mixed 2 bottles up...one with 601/501 and one with 601/105. It worked like a champ. The only downside Jerry said is that the shelf life would be very short; measured in hours. I found that after 2 days it was maybe a bit thicker, but still working very well. This saves one step for each product (501 and 105) and saves time. In addition, you are still getting the benefit of the 601...flash cures, longer durability. I wanted to share this info as I know there are a lot of DG fans here on AGOL. Just mix up small batches and you'll be good to go. I used some more tonight and it was still fine after 4 days."

DG 501/601 then DG105/601 both mixed 4:1 then top it with Coli845 and it WILL amaze you and give you up to or over a years worth of protection.

I have white, no metallic. 2 coats of BFWD, topped with 2 coats of BFMS. Has everything I want. All starts with what is under all of that though

Well! Thanks guys.
Getting a consensus on a product question is as rare as a unicorn with tiger stripes, so this is really something!

If you're doing it by hand, I bought Dodo Juice Light fantastic and its great. I ended up buying a PC 7424 after I bought the Light fantastic and now typically just stick with Collinite 845, although I might take the time and hand wax my baby now that the weather has warmed up. Wish you could use the Dodo with my PC, but a few people told me not to since its a soft wax

As as been said on here before , Prep and Clean ur paint then use what you like. White paint is hard to pop. On my camaro I used a AIO then Fuzion on top

Two white trucks. A 2011 Tacoma - single stage white. A 2012 Ram - base coat/clear coat white. Both prepped with a Porter Cable 7424 using Meguiar's ColorX, Ultimate Polish or Ultimate Compound as needed followed by Meguiar's Ultimate Wax. I frequently do maintenance waxing with Meguiar's Ultimate Spray Wax. Both trucks are typically washed with Optimim No Rinse Wash and Shine which leaves a very glossy finish. With the exception of the Optimum No Rinse all products are easy to find locally.

(How about that -- no acronyms.:D)
