Haven't heard much about these products especially the new poli coat from DP. It seems as if there is no downside to that product since it is cheap compared to other traditional sealants (PL, WGDGS, etc.) short cure time, good looks, up to a year durability, sounds almost too good to be true. Any thoughts??

I've read about it but have never tried it. Maybe next time it is on bogo/sale I might have to pick up a bottle.

If either one of you would like to take DP Poli-Coat for a test drive and write a review for the forum, shoot me a PM.

Todd Helme posted a very thorough review of Black Label Diamond Paint Sealant over on Autopiaforums.com - check it out! :D

I've had a bottle of the old formula DP sealant and have only used it once. Not because I don't like it, just that I have too damn many LSPs! It applies easily, dries to a haze, and buffs off easily. Durability on my wifes car has been 4 months sitting outside 24/7.

I have the PBL Sealant and applied it to my personal car recently. Photos and review coming soon once life allows. Little tease, nothing short of stunning.

That's definitely a good deal.

As soon as I use up the sealants I have, DP Poli-Coat is next on my to try list. Sounds like a good beginner introduction to coatings. I too am surprised there is so little chatter about it here.

I'll be trying it very soon, being its made by DP I have high hopes with its performance:dblthumb2:
Sure can't beat the price compared to most.

I'll give a full review of it and my thoughts, can't wait:)

Another one interested in Poli Coat. The description is great, and I really trust AG descriptions. However, the little feedback from users provided (mainly on new formula) keeps me away from ordering it.

I would like to have it like a 'middle end' solution, something between a wax job and a coating job. My main doubt is, would I need to top the sealant with a carnauba to achieve that final finish we all expect?

I do know that prep is '~95% of the finish' you would achieve, but would DP poli coat give the 'whole 5% missing' by itself?

Looking forward to know.

Thanks for this topic,

Kind Regards.

Well, I sent Nick a PM and he is sending me some to try out and I agreed to do a review on it as soon as im able so stay tuned!

Love policoat. Works great, easy to apply and wipe off. Kind of a liquid gloss shine. Plus it smells nice.

I gotta agree. It's boringly easy to use, looks pretty good and has good durability. You can't really go wrong with it.

That's fair enough to hear from a guy like you. This time it will stay in my cart until arriving my home! Thanks for feedback.

Thanks for another feedback. Now I can't wait to try policoat!

Thank you all,

Kind Regards.

Received my test bottle of Policoat Friday. Bottle shattered in the cold but I was able to save 90%. Can't wait to give a spin Monday and write a review!

Gonna break out the scaffolding and use the old formula as soon as my new tractor is assigned. Plan to maintain with OPS. Two weeks until seven consecutive days off.
Glossy glass end product.

You gotta post some pics when done:dblthumb2:

For sure hand. Gonna be an epic show and shine due to the fact that I'll be blinging out the wheels and the running boards.
Haven't done a show and shine in a while. Decided to get a 2012 International ProStar rather than anything Freightliner due to poor grounding of factory cb antennae mounts. I got too much $$$ tied up in my two way modulating communicator to deal with subpar performance.

Happy detailing... :buffing:
