Any love for the 6" of lake country changeable bp ?

So it is obvious the 4" bp is the cream of the lc system, very smooth buffing experience even at speed 6 i swear if i dont know better i feel like i am polishing with a rotary. Change the 4" bp to the 6" and damn at speed 6 i feel like my right hand got electrocuted and that is not even a single section pass. I feel a whole lot more vibrations from using the lc 6" vs ori flex bp at speed 6.

Thing is i got this system as a replacement to my original 5.5 bp that has delaminated and i am invested too much on 6.5 and 5.5 pads, i feel 4"bp is too small for 5.5" i regret that i shouldve gotten the 4 3/8 bp instead or get some 5" pads but i already have too many pads for a weekend detailer so i am thinking of using 6.5" pads instead...

What do you think guys ? asking for opinions in particular on how's the cut of identical model of pad say lc flat 6.5 at speed 4 vs lc flat 5.5 at speed 6 compare ?

Too fast!

Wait till you have a few more cars under your belt before you grab a direct drive with the biggest pad on the highest speed. No surprise is was vibrating under those conditions.

Try speed 4, then maybe 5, or a different compound. I believe (hopefully someone can confirm this for me) FG400 works better at slower speeds, like 3-4. And FG4000 is at 4-5 I've read.

I use both the 6.5" Hybrid Pads as well as the 5" Hybrid Pads. I like the 6.5" Pads for correcting work. You can cover more area and get the job done quicker. I like the 5" Pads for more "finesse" work.

As for the Pads, I have switched to the Lake Country Hybrid Pads for the Flex 3401 VRG. IMO they are the "Best" for this DA. The Lake Country CCS Pads are now my Spares. B&S Hex Pads are IMO too thin to be really effective in correcting.

The reason why I mention the Hybrid Pads is that you (sulla) did not mention what type of pad you are using.

I have ALL of the Backing Plates for my Flex (Lake Country and Flex) and the Hybrid Pads are the way to go IMO. Try them and see (if you have not tried them). IMO, the Hybrid Pads were made for the Flex. I have no issues with vibration or "running or grabbing" with these pads when I use the Flex.

I haven't yet used the standard BP or the bigger LC, but one would think: the bigger the rotating pad face the lower the necessary speed, no? I got incredible results with the 5" Hybrids and D151 at speed 5, low arm speed, moderate pressure. Another section with M205 was superb at speed 4.5. I can't imagine you'd need that kind of speed with a 6.5" pad.

Can't wait to try the Smack Technique with the Menz twins that shipped today...
