Any reason nbot to opticoat painted boat?

I have a new fishing boat. The boat is painted aluminum. I have opti-coat left over from a vehicle application. Is there any reason why this wouldnt be a good idea to aplly to the new boat??

IF it's painted it should be okay.

Is it in the water all of the time even when you're not using it or a trailered boat?

It is a trailored boat and stays in my garage when I'm not fishing in it. I just didnt know if opti-coat was suitable for being submerged in water for hours at a time.

I was just thinking about this over the weekend. My parents bought a new Lund aluminum boat and wanted to get the $800 paint protection plan. I told them I would do it for half price! lol

I was wondering if the decals would be an issue? Just go right over them?

Yes, with a proper cure time before exposure.

Yes, if prepped to be free of oxidation, oils, waxes, etc.

This boat thread has me thinking about a question that I don't believe has been answered by OPT yet. Can Opti Coat be used on single stage vehicle paints? I believe I heard some time ago that Dr. G had not tested OC or OG on SS paint but I could be wrong. If it will stick to uncoated gelcoat I imagine it would work on SS.
