Any recommendations on a cordless blow dryer?

I like a flat weave for my drying towels. No chance of becoming contaminated over time.

This ties in with how I'm always telling people that how long anything lasts or looks good on car paint, (that's 2 things), always depends on how you TOUCH the paint.

Flat weave = less risk - and less risk over time.

I love how the PFM drying towels work, don't get me wrong, but I only have so much room in my storage cabinets. I have stacks of guzzlers, I don't have stacks of Griot's PFM drying towels.

With the way that I wash I never have to worry about contamination once I get to the drying step. Everything is flushed away.

It's not the washing step where towels with a weave or a nap/loop get contaminated, it's from all the ways it can happen.

You are correct - contamination like getting sticks, leaves, dead bugs, dirt, rocks, wood, etc., buried into the weave of any towel won't normally happen IF the person in charge of their towels is CAREFUL with them, but that's not my experience with people in general.

It's a CLEAN bucket that I purposefully keep clean, and monitor for cleanliness and as I'm working on a car, all my used towels go into the bucket. This insures they are not on the ground or whatever and getting contaminated.


Big picture is find something that works for you.

Me? I like to put practices into place that reduce the potential.

Back on topic, a great way to dry a car without TOUCHING it is with a car blower.

I like my Kobalt 80 volt battery operated blower. It works great on my ceramic coated car. It also works great for blowing debris off the sidewalk and driveway after cutting and edging the lawn. I don't have a problem with leaves in the fall...but if I did I might opt for the more expensive (and more powerful) Ego.
 
I can recommend Toro Power jet F700 140MPH 725cfm. I do not have experience with it but I've heard feedbacks from my friends and from other people.
