I recently got into road biking and I was just wondering if anyone here rides as well.

Yup. Been riding for some 32 years (I'm 59). Gone through touring, racing (I was so much younger then), just cruisin around, and commuting.
"It feels like flying".

I was just talking to my uncle today about borrowing his bike so I can participate in a triathlon. When I get it, I'll let you know...maybe meet up at Flatwoods.

Cool deal. I just did 11 miles at Flatwoods today. It felt great! How did that wrap removal you called me about go?

The guy actually wants to hold off on that job until either the end of the summer or end of the year. Of course he didn't bother to call me and let me know. I found out when I got there. He has never been the best at communication.

Just please don't wear your biking shorts in pubic. Spare us the plum smuggling:dblthumb2:

I'm just starting to get back into it.I test drove a older Schwinn le-tour 62cm? yesteray and WOW was that thing FAST!!!
Only a couple more months of decent weather left here then it's time for Salmon-n-steelhaed.:props:

I do a lot of road cycling. I have a Colnago that I have had for years. It has mostly all vintage Campanello Super Record parts. Weights about 19 lbs. Use to do some triathlons before I got married. I still swim laps but I don't run very much.

I very often ride on the road - but on my MTB. I have "road" tires on, not skinnies.

Saturday night I did a path ride downtown Chattanooga that is about 15 miles. The nice thing about it being a MTB though is that we also did a little "trials/rockhopping" while we there. That was fun stuff.

One thing I know for sure...after riding a MTB 25 miles, then riding a road bike 25 behind it - a road bike is like riding a motorcycle by comparison. If you want a workout - go with the MTB!

It's hard to stay in shape riding in your car!Im the MAN

I agree. Cycling after you are old enough to drive is done because it's fun, and great exercise. It is also great to fit cardiovascular excercise into your schedule by commuting. Then you get your errands done and your excercise done at the same time without having to drive to a gym, work out, and drive back. Saves gas, too. I always wanted to be a bike racer, and thus I really liked to ride a lot after I was old enough to drive. I have a cool car, so I don't have anything to prove as far as driving all the time to prove I'm a grown up. :)
I also find biking a lot more satisfying than driving, because then I'M the one who is fast, and not just the car. Car maintenance is a lot more involved than bike maintenance, and I would much rather repack the bearings on my bike than have to change the gear lube and differential fluid, and the oil, and grease all the fittings on my car. Plus, I want to keep the mileage on my 1957 Chevy low, because of the value, and how incredibly expensive parts can be. Gas is expensive, too. I only drive when I'm really in a hurry, or when I need to go more than 15 miles. I'm looking into an electric assist, for my Easy Racer, though, which should bring my speed up to 40-455 mph cruising, or 55 top speed. I still like cars, because I see them as sculpture, and I can carry more stuff, too.
