I'm in a bind and I'm tired of trying to squeeze by using M105 for scratches on a black car. First layer of haze removed easily but brought out deeper scratches. I'm running out of sanity doing 20 or more passes to get out enough scratches for my liking. I'm using the Torq DA with 5.5 inch BS pads.(I think a flex will be in my future soon)

Anyways if anyone can spare some fg400 or similar compound, I can pay you for what you have. I just want this project done so I can spend more time on the polishing before I give it back. If I can pick it up by Tuesday night, that would be great!

I have some FG400. I'm from S.F though so about 30-1hr drive each way. Pm sent for my number. Shoot me a text.

Im pretty sure M105 is at least as strong as FG400 if I am not mistaken. Have you had better luck with the FG vs 105?

If your in a bind and only have M105 I'd suggest some water in a spray bottle and a few squirts to the working section and continue working the compound if you need more cut. What B&S pad you using?

Also I'm making a trip to SJ airport tomorrow around 7pm and have about half bottle of M101 if you're interested. Send me a pm with # if you'd like me to take it with me.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I was able to get some help from a fellow forum member.

I was using a yellow foam pad from B&S with the m105, and an orange hex logic while the BS pads dried. I could only get 2-3 passes out of it before my pads got clogged up or the compound deteriorated. I sprayed the pad and even the panel. I tried every combination of what I had. It was warm out but even late at night, I had the same issues. Removal was also difficult when wiping it away.

On a positive note, I did use the fg400 tonight and it gave me the results I was looking for. Had plenty of working time and wiped off easy. I should note that these were sanding scratches left over from another person and some of them from me since I touched up some rock chips earlier in the week. The longer working time was a huge benefit to me. Ive used m105 before with success but this car has aftermarket paint and has been touched by several others before me. I had to call it quits at midnight but I'm excited to see the results in the sun tomorrow.
Had I known what fg400 could do, I would of ignored the higher price tag a long time ago.
AG has Don to thank for converting me to this compound. I'll be putting in an order soon.
