Any Station Wagon Fans?

I grew up in wagons. FORD LTD COUNTRY SQUIRE. I would love an old 70's wagon again. I saw one done up by HOT ROD mag. it was SWEET!
chrome 5 spoke Craigers, and about 15 coats of HOC Adams family gloss Black! ( I bet that's a PITA to keep show car perfect) but man it was killer, lowered and built to the hilt,as we used to say (showing my age here):dblthumb2:

There are very few wagons I'm actually a fan of. Audi/VW make some of the best looking wagons, but being a CTS V owner, I'd rock a V Wagon in a heartbeat.

Sport wagon fan here, but I live across the pond! :xyxthumbs:
I live in a country were people prefer hatchbacks and station wagons above all other car body styles.
I bought a new A6 Avant 5 months ago. Just for the record, about 8 or 9 out of every A6, Series 5 or Model E sold here are station wagons.

Err...mistake. This is how the last part should be:

...about 8 or 9 out of 10 of all the A6, Series 5 or Model E sold here are station wagons.

The market share is between 80 and 90%.

by station wagon you mean this... then yes.

Yep, the CTS-V wagon (or Vagon, as the owners call them) is a great vehicle...for haulin' and for HAULIN'. No Chevy Nomad fans out there? There have been some amazing custom Nomads at the auctions the past few years. But as wagons go, not many top this beauty:

Check the description for all the awards this was up for. Eleven thousand man-hours of labor went into it. That means the winning bidder got it for $17 an hour, and the parts were free.

An Audi S Allroad would be pretty cool. They already have the SQ5 in the states.

That is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen.

Glad to see there's still some love for the station wagon, especially around AG.

I'm a big fan of all the pictures that have been posted too. :props:

Long Live the Wagon

First car I ever had was a 1961 Ford Falcon Wagon with three on the tree. I put way over 100K on that car. along with three transmissions, two engines, and a couple of differentials. Sure made me a decent and fast mechanic. Plus a great junkyard scrounger.

Last wagon I had was a 1977 LTD II
It was bought used at 44K and I stated breaking it right away. By the time I got done I had swapped the engine for a 460 cu in Ford. Bored as far as possible, Venolia custom 11.5 to 1 pistons, 750 cfm double pumper. Built C4 trans and a traction lock 411 rear end. Added a two bottle, two plate nitrous system to it. When I hit both plates it would jerk the front wheels off the ground. Ran 11.87 at 118mph in the quarter. Got really crappy gas mileage. I didn't care.
Horsepower at the crank was right at 715
Got rid of it when California started to get nasty about SMOG Tests.

Sounds awesome. I've got a soft spot for fast wagons. I wish we could import some of those German rocket ships to to US.

While no rocket ship my 07 Passat Wagon with the 3.6 engine and sport suspension is pretty quick and I still average 22mpg around town and near 30 on the highway. Too bad VW no longer sells it in the US while in Europe I believe I read 50% of Audi and VW sales are for wagons. I find it to be just as versitile as a SUV, but allot more responsive handling.

Your's is somewhat of a rare breed. Don't those too often around SW PA!

I'm waiting for the 2015 Sportwagen to get to the US so I can replace my A4.

Im a fan of wagons and hatchbacks. Love the utility of my Magnum. I also use it as my mobile rig and it holds everything including a table, pressure washer, vacuum, boxes and storage bins etc.

About 8 years ago, I had an '83 Malibu wagon, which I still miss. It was originally black, but was painted a very nice bright metallic emerald green color. I got it with the original wheezing 305, and promptly built and put in a 350/TH350 combo (with heads/cam/nitrous/many other upgrades), it dynoed at 437 HP/409 ft. lbs off N2O (engine only) and got about 15 MPG. I drove it around for awhile until someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse. For being as heavy as it was, it really got up and moved!
