Well, I am a newbie in DA world, just got my GG 6'' months ago. used it couple times. It's an awesome machine, but the vibration really kills me off every time when using it. I suppose the vibration is a common issue of all DAs, and GG is one of the worst on this? how do you avoid your hands and arms shaking off your body? Any tips besides getting used to it?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I noticed this when I first started out with the DA. You get use to it quickly the more you use it.

But in the mean time if it's really bothering you that much put on some winter gloves or another glove that has good insulation.

What size pads/BP are you using? When I first got my PC I was using a 4in BP with 4in Pad and it was real hard to control. When I switched to 5in BP with 5.5in Pad it was much more pleasant to use.

I wrapped some "foam" pipe insulation around the bale handle...helped cut back on the tingling hands sensation...

You can get some Anti-Vibration gloves.

There's a Harbor Freight close by to me and picked up a pair. They do seem to help a bit with the vibrations for the Griots / PC especially if you've been buffing with it for hours on end.

:iagree: get some of those workers gloves with gel inside the palms and on the fingers and that absorbs alot of vibrations. but you should get used to it.

1. Take off the handle and hold the head of the machine. This puts your control hand in the center sweet spot and will help to reduce the feeling of vibration.

2. Lossen your grip! By holding it so tight you are making it worse on yourself. By relaxing your grip it will get better.

The first machine I ever purchased was the GG and it was an experience that was rather short of enjoyable. Luckily it broke down after only two hours of use and I made the step to a machine that doesn't vibrate like the rest of the D/A.

I m using GG6'' with 5'' backing plate and 5.5 hydro pads. Feel sufficiently the power of GG 6''. I don't even dare to switch to max power now, use 5.0 or 5.5 mostly

:iagree:

Its a possibilty your machine is out of balance. My first Griots shook like crazy. My 2nd Griots runs so smooth I thought something was wrong with it when I first got it

I agree also that the more you use it, the more you'll get use to it

Furthermore. I agree with Legacy (Bill) on using a rotary for anything that requires more then 1 step

Make sure the pad is centered.I have a cyclo with the rubber boots, when they weren't on right it vibrated like crazy. I put them on the right way and now it doesn't vibrate.

Flash, just curious about the machine being out of balance. I got a GG but haven't had an opportunity to use it much yet so I don't have a problem as far as I know. Is there an adjustment that can be made on the machine or is this a fixed item that either right or wrong?
