Any Tornador Users ?

Yes it is an awesome tool. Try Home Depot, look at the Rigid job boss for $269.99. The Tornador needs 5.0 cfm @ 90 p.s.i. it has 4.9 so it is the closest at the price. As far using it for air tools i'm not sure. I definitely use the QD on newer cars or clean interiors and apc on dirty interiors.

Do not buy this air compressor this is the one i bought for my tornador thinking it would be sufficient enough for the job.... the tornador not only needs 5cfm or more at 90 but your compressor tank/tanks need a lot of volume otherwise after say 10 seconds your waiting another minute for the compressor to fill the tank again. the best setting on the regulator for me is about 110 psi threw the tornador and at least a 40 gallon tank on the compressor.

i use it on every car i do and with the right equipment (compressor and solution) it works wonders. i love doing the door panels and watching the dirt come dripping out of the cracks. its incredible what it pulls out.

Your about right, but I really don't use it that much. What kind of 40 gallon air compressor do you have?

I also ordered two of these tools about two years ago, and I can tell you, I use it everyday. I use one strictly for interior cleaning with my apc and as far as the other, I fill it with whatever comes to mind.

I have one and while I must admit, pulling the trigger to buy it not tops on my list due to the price, but after using it, I've never regretted it and never looked back... I used it with OPC at probably a 3:1 ratio for interiors, seats, door jambs, engines, tires, wheel wells and rims. It's definitely a time saver. Combine that with a steam cleaner on interiors and it works like a charm!

i dont have a 40 gallon unit, mine is that ridgid 4.5 gallon unit from home depot but i usually use my father in laws air compressor at the shop when i can its over 60 gallons and the tornador would probably break before that compressor stopped feeding it

But i took my tornador to my buddies house and his neighbor let us use his craftsman 30 gallon unit..... it worked pretty good but i think at least 40 gallons any kind will be sufficient for non stop, constant performance

I have been using a Tornador for over a year in my mobile detailing business. It is an incredible time saver. I use it on door jams, vents, dash, consoles, seat belts, and carpets with Meg's APC. It is fantastic for loosening ground in dirt around the throttle and dead pedal!
I have had to replace a few parts and have upgraded to the stainless steel liner for the horn, but it has become an invaluable addition to my kit. I would recommend it for anyone. I use a compressor that is comparable to the Porter Cable unit that AG sells and it is sufficient for mobile use, but a larger compressor would be better. These things use as much air as my 1/2" impact wrench.

Of course simply using compressed air and a blow gun will do the trick, but the Tornador is faster.

A word of caution however... the Tornador atomizes the chemical very efficiently and can fog up the interior quite badly, especially at higher pressure. I recommend very good ventilation and frequent breaks to get fresh air (and let your compressor build up pressure.)

What are these upgrades you did. I'm getting ready to send mine in because I'm having problems with it.

Also I sometimes my ears hurt from the noise it makes. In my eyes its an invaluable tool as I've said before.

I couldn't figure out what part was clogged so I replaced the weighted pickup tube, the VERY thin fluid line and the weighted rotating tube in the cone, and the cone itself with the stainless lined one. The problem turned out to be that the very thin fluid tube had some scale built up in it from the APC that I was using. Soaking it might have solved the problem, but I was in a panic so I ordered everything I saw. In retrospect, I should have just ordered another unit to have on hand in case it happened again, but the rebuild presented a good lesson in equipment maintenance.

I've heard to soak those tubes over night to avoid that problem. Mine stay running all the time. I tried playing with it the other night now it goes on and off with the trigger but something else is messed up now lol

If it stays running, I would think that would be a sticky trigger. A shot of lube should do the trick. They are sensitive to leaks so make sure everything is sealed up well. If it is sucking air, it won't have the pressure needed to siphon.

I'm going to take it all apart, completely today and soak a few things...wish me luck lol
