Have any of you ever put together a "portfolio" of some sort in print? If so, did you find it worthwhile or a waste of time? I've thought about putting together a small binder/folder filled with a few pages of info about the services offered, some starting prices, contact info, and finally some nice pictures of jobs that have been done so I could have something on hand that I could show to potential customers to help explain things and give some examples of work that I've done. I find that it's sometimes difficult to explain things to people so they understand and I've also thought about hitting up some car shows to see if I could pick up some business in which both cases it could be helpful to have to examples on hand to show people.

Get a tablet so you can show off your website.

Chances are you will want to make changes and/or show off different Things over time... It would be a huge hassle to have to print everything each time you wanted to change something. Just spend time making a nice site and keeping it up to date.

Too, most 'prints' rarely look as good as the original on an electronic medium. Take a look at some of the 50/50 shots posted on the forums and how obvious (but sometimes subtle) they are. I think you would be hard pressed to find a printer capable of THAT much detail.

Don't have a tablet yet, but what I'm doing is building a web site of sorts, It's more of a gallery only but it's HTML & CSS based. It runs full screen so there's no menu bar or anything so it looks like an application and not a web site. It has some animations and transitions so it makes things pop a bit. I found a before and after widget for Muse (what I used to make it) What I do is have a camera on a tripod and will take 3 or 4 before and after pictures of a car I detail. And with the widget you swipe left and right and the person can see the car before and after.

It's really cool, but of course for it to work you need 2 pictures taken at the exact same spot. I usually have to do a slight bit of editing to get them to line up. But imho it's a killer way to show off your work. Once I get my 8" tablet it will be money on the bank.
