Paypal one debited 1200.00 from by bank account without authorization. It took 2 weeks to get it back. I'll never give them my bank info again. Credit cards you can at least dispute the charge...

ewww...sounds like some of that stuff might be true then.....
anyone else here - good or bad experiences?

over the years of buying and selling computer parts pretty much exclusively with paypal, not one problem.

payment insurance has always been solid.

no regrets at all.

to stop this, most of the time its a quick strike of a hacker, setup with your bank so that no money over a certain amount can be granted without phone approval. this has worked great with me having an ING interest bearing checking account and I have to personally verify and large transactions.

PayPal sent me an e-mail this AM. It said that they were going to suspend my acc't because someone in France was trying to use it. They gave me a link to go to. When I connected my ISP sent a message that said "This is a known phishing site" and blocked it. Nothing but problems since I signed up for PayPal.

Yes you have to be very carful of hitting any links to paypal sent via email. Those are not from paypal.Always go direct to your account and if there was any messages sent from paypal then you would be able to access them there.

I use to like using PP but recently I would not touch it with a ten foot pole.
I linked my account with a cc and verified it with my checking.

The problem started when I purchased some items on ebay and my cc expired(my fault on that part), PP did not even notify me about the expiration and went directly to my checking and took the money out.

I lived and learn from that, I updated my account with the new expiration date. The reason I now stop using PP is because even though I updated my info, PP is still sending funds from checking acc. and no notification. I made sure my CC was the first thing they should be taking the funds from but instead they kept taking the funds from my checking. It infuriated me and I stop using PP.

Fairly problem free, I had one issue once where someone was making transactions under my account, they froze the account and got my money back...I might not have even noticed.

Thats why I link my payments to my VISA, if Paypal doesnt agree with me I just call VISA and I ALWAYS get my $$ back
