Hello,

Looking for something other than IPA to take off the polishing oils & residue. I know a 10% blend should be paint safe but I'm still leery of it. I was looking at three products. One I excluded because in another thread I saw it had 30% IPA (Carpro eraser). The other two candidates are Griots Pre-Wax Cleaner and Menzerna Top Inspection. Has anyone used these? or know whats in them or are they just repackaged IPA as well? Any experiences with these products would be welcome.

Edit (Just called Menzerna and they say no alcohol in Top Inspection) (From the description Griots does not look like it has alcohols either)

Thanks,
Drew

Yeah I bought the top inspection (which is more expensive and half as much liquid) before I even saw the Griots. Hope the Inspection works well. I did a price match and got it for $15 but the Griots (with sprayer) is $13 and 35 ounces compared to 16 ounces with the Menzerna

You are right on re: pricing..and the GG works great. It does not take much app and goes a long way. :buffing:

Carpro Eraser is a great product. You should really give it a try. I didn't wan to use IPA do I have been using Menzerna Top Inspector but once I tried Eraser I haven't used Top Inspector since.

I've used the Griot's Garage Pre-Wax Cleaner and IMO it works great. You can literally see the polishing oils disappear. I leaves the paint surface "honest" for a nice layer of wax. The 35oz bottle will last you a LONG time as you don't need much at all.

I really like the GG pre-wax cleaner. Haven't tried my Car pro yet.

I haven't used Top Inspection but have used Griot's Prewax Cleaner and liked it a lot. Easy to use, spray on and wipe off, and leaves a nice clean finish for your LSP.

I have been using the Top Inspection, but as soon as the CarPro Eraser goes on sale it will be my new best friend.

I also use the odorless Mineral Spirits. It also seem to go on very "smooth" and does not leave any streaks.

But I have read such glowing reviews about Eraser that I just have to try it.

Top inspection is a very good product but it's so expensive that I feel like I am spraying Johnnie Walker Blue on my car when I am using it.

I hear people say that the Top Inspection is "Grabby". Anyone find this with the Griots?

Drew

I've used Griots and love it; I have not used Top Inspection.

So, Carpro Eraser can be used as a LSP removal product? I use it after I polish before I apply sealer/LSP to remove the oils from the polish, but I didn't know it could be used as a LSP remover.

I had been looking at the GG but since I already have quite a bit of Eraser I'd rather just use it if it works as a LSP removal product.
