Anyone here use a Dash-Cam?

If you have a smart phone there are a number of apps that will do this along the lines of 'black box'

The problem is remembering to set it up and use it every time.

Would you mind listing some of the apps that do this?

Thanks!

Ployd looks to be the one with the best reviews. Think il give it a try.

Damn, think I'm gonna have to look into one of those. Talk about dishonest behaviour! Wow

Ployd has a trial version, I'm gonna give that a try.

Happens all the time!

in my searching...

you can buy an extra power connection and windshield mount to swap from one car to another.

also like the SD card slots.

Mercedes offers car cameras in the S class line as an option in Europe, but not in that states *that i've found*.

Wow!! I thought I was weird for wanting to do this a few months ago. I've been researching them as well. I think I will eventually get a dash cam.

That youtube video is so awesome!!!!

People are such jerks. Maybe this guy was trying to pull a scam ($500 at the end of the day), but was it needed to put up his address, and the address of his sister who has 3 kids? I hate the internet...

That looked staged. I bet those two guys are the owners of the company

Hopefully someone will post their experience with theirs and make some suggestions. The one from the OP's ebay link looks pretty nice but I don't trust anything on ebay.

I don't doubt that this goes on, I wonder if they go after the "nicer" cars, or the average looking ones?

I rememeber I had a conversation with someone a LONG time ago (probably back in 98-99) and they said they knew people who actually drive around "looking" for people to hit them. He said they'll try to watch people in the rear view mirrors and if they saw someone not looking they'd slam on their brakes. Not sure how long they got away with this...it made me mad just hearing about the story.

It's not, that video is all over the internet now. The scammer, who was on Acura Forums got discovered, information is now all over about him, and he's receiving racial threats

From my search, you can't buy that in the US. You can use England sites, but I'm figuring you'll pay a nice fee for S&H

those 2 are lucky they didn't get run over. The 401 is the busiest highway in North America...

also notice the scammer's car seems to have his brake lights disconnected. It's not a fuse issue b/c his signal lights appear to be working but even when he pulls over in the shade, I don't see any brake lights coming on... he's just begging to be rear-ended and when it's not happening, he takes matters into his own hands...
