Anyone read the Sept. Car and Driver yet?

there doesnt seem to be any hard etching from the waterspot. the waterspot dissappeared after a wash.

the car has soft paint (honda).

Stuff like that is so mystifying.

How can one work for a car magazine and yet know nothing about proper car paint care?

I dont get it?

I was asking myself the same thing yesterday walking around a Concours d'Elegance event and staring at swirls, buffer trails, and wax in the cracks/around emblems on everything from Chevys to Duesenbergs....

They were probably detailed by the same folks who wrote this article!

I drove by there Sunday morning. I was visiting a friend in Northville for the weekend and we drove by on our way to The Bomber in Ypsilanti for breakfast. There were some nice looking cars driving in. Its sad to hear that they weren't properlay cared for. You'd think that with a name like Concours d'Elegance that wouldn't be a swirl for miles around.

Sorry for the hijack...

'Wheeling' was (note I say WAS) a term from the 50's. But so was 'nothing but wool.'

As to the 'heat', yea, that also was a fact of life back in the day (the days before BC/CC).

I'm sure Mike P will chime in...he IS a walking historian on this stuff.

Anytime I hear someone say or use the term wheelin it's usually coming from a guy about 10+ years older than me...

Detailing cars and cars in general are my passions in this world so I lock in and remember a lot of things related to this industry.
