At 0:39, this guy is using a washboard type of grit guard. He says he got it from AG but I've never seen AG carry this before. Has anyone else ever seen this before and know where to get it?

That's the Dirt Dropper. AFAIK they never sold it here, not sure if it's still available or not.

It looks like the Pail Pal - Dirt Dropper.

I can't view the video but I think I know what your talking about. How it hangs near the rim of the bucket? He probably modified it somehow.

Interesting!! GG should make something like this!!!

I think I've seen something similar on amazon.

If you do a search on amazon for the products listed above, it comes up

AG should carry these ;)

I use one of my grit guards to scrub my mit as seen in the video. I lift it up a little bit and rub up and down. (no comments on that please haha)

Why would you lift your Grit Guard up like that!?!? Bahaha lol

Seems like a mitt immersed in water when agitated would shed dirt more easily than one partially out of the water.

Otherwise it seems like this would do the same thing.

Shop Wooster 5-Gallon Spreader Screen at Lowes.com

Maybe the idea is, the dirt that falls off goes to the bottom straight away and doesn't get slushed around while the mit is in the water.

I think in or out of the water it would still do the job. The pieces of the mit rubbing against the grit guard is what forces the dirt off, not necessarily the water.

I've seen it for sale elsewhere before and one detailer using it once.

I put 2 grit guards in my rinse bucket and fill it just about 2-3 inches above the 2nd guard. I only fill it above it so when I brush it across the guard there isn't a bunch of water that goes slushing around.
