I'm really curious if anyone has tried Chemical guys j97 wax? I can't find any reviews or first hand info on it.

Very few people on this forum buy waxes in that price range. Im sure its good stuff, but unless I have millions upon millions I can find a lot of other stuff I would rather spend $850 on.

No I do not know of any one using CG J97, but if you like check out below.
AG does not allow links, so Google: Definitive Wax Marble :xyxthumbs:

^^^Neither can/do I!!^^^

And no review from me except to say...

1.) ~ $900.00 for a wax... :surrender:

2.) I was doing OK with CG’s directions for using Project J97...
until I got to step 3:

Directions
1. Wash vehicle.
2. Towels dry with a microfiber towel.

3. Open Project J97 with included key only.

4. If applying Project J97 for the first time,
use included applicators or soft foam applicator.
5. Always reseal cap be evenly tightening the screws.

And wouldn't you know it...Couldn’t find the:

That's expensive, if I was bill gates I would use a whole tub every time I waxed my rolls;)

If you can afford that you would not be doing it yourself. Pete's 53 will do me just fine.

...at least they include the foam applicator. But, there are a lot of waxes in that price range. Who buys them?

Ive only seen 1 little review from maybe the guy who the wax was made for. I dont know if I believe that tiny 1 sentence review from CG on that wax. I dont believe the hype on this wax.

You got to wonder what goes into it to make it so costly. Or, is it just hype to get people to talk about CG like we are now? The most I would spend is about $150.00

-The costlier waxes may not have in them:
bees-waxes or even parrafin-waxes, among others...

-But is having only:
carnuba wax, fragrances of some sort, amyl acetate (CH3)2CH(CH2)2CO2CH3---"banana oil"...
or some other alleged 'exotic oils' as their ingredients;
along with a fancy-schmancy packaging...worth the big bucks??

Not to me!

-$150.00...:wow:  :surrender:...still too rich for my blood!!

My wax purchases usually stay within:
-$12.00 (S100)
-$15-22 (Meg's #26, Gold Class, Ultimate; 3M's Show Car;
Colly #845; Mother's Carnuba; for example.)

The exception (on sale a few years back):

Yeah...
I suppose some may say I'm cheap.
But, I'll have to say: I'm not easy though!

:)

Bob, the difference with the ingredients I understand. But, I was more talking about the difference between a hundred dollar wax and one that cost a thousand dollars. These often seem to have the exact same or similar ingredients. For example, what could be the difference between CGs Celeste Dettaglio at $175 and Project J97 at 5x the cost? All packaging, hype, or marketing ? I can see 200 bucks due to be hand poured or small batches, but once it reaches a thousand.... I start to wonder.

Would you believe?Brough & Howarth’s Definitive Wax Marble – £24,000 (US $37,000)When it comes to exclusive wax, though, nothing compares to The Definitive Wax Marble. Presented in a hand-crafted cube made of solid marble from Athens, Greece, the wax is made with beeswax, Brazilian #1 Carnauba wax and refined natural fruit oils. The wax is available exclusively through Brough & Howarth and its specially trained associates, and there is only one 480 ml pot in existence.

if i was doing $1000 show car details all the time. it would be worth it. but most people in that price range want waxes like zymol,Swiswax....its a game of inches.

If I stopped wiping my back side with $100 bills I could have had this by now...

It's a real joke. Who can afford to buy this kind of wax? Millionaires and I'm not sure.
