Anyone use LED Work Lights instead of halogen?

I use 2 metal halides instead of halogen ..150watts each ..
Leds are too expensive

Could you post or send me a pic of these? I'm mainly looking for good lights I can move around however I also seriously need to upgrade the lighting in my garage! There is a streetlight right on the end of my driveway that shows many defects I really like especially since my Brinkman (Xenon) doesn't seem to show hardly anything on some metallic paints.

This is the image of the metal .

here is an example

I use LED's and Halogen for different things. I use the LED's because it shows the slightest hologram because I feel halogen won't pick those up as well. I use the halogen to show swirls/scratches.

Has anyone considered placing these on some kind of stand (camera or otherwise)?
BlueMax? 20w PAR38 Compact Fluorescent Floodlight
I've read the importance of diff lighting aspects; CRI = 94+, Kelvin = 5900, & Lumens = 930 each!
I found some par38 single diode LEDs at HD last night on sale but think they may be too big (size & weight) for the stands I'm looking into.

Just trying to find the best light for most defects, especially on metallic paints that won't fry me or is too fragile.

Check this thread out

I believe he states Par30's are better due to their weight. Personally at the price since I looked into building one I would just go with the 1720 lumen LED stand. I just picked 1000w Halogen stand instead for now.

So it looks like a par 30 will work pretty good in a clip light? I had a standard bulb in one. If I can get two o9f these babies to work on each side of my car it would be the bomb! I ahve 1/2 the stand for halogens unfourtunatly, not the tripod.I do have 2 guitar stands not in use and this has given me an idea! Ill see if I can rig it up soon and post it.

Keep using halogens because they have great brightness and light output, much stronger than LED lights. You're going to have to buy replacement bulbs though, a lot of them, because the bulbs on halogens die out really soon.

If you plug your halogens into a surge protector (ideally, a single-outlet surge protector), the bulbs should last longer...

I picked up the Husky 2500 Lumen LED Multi directional lights along with the 800 Lumen hand held LED. Ill give a review once i use them. I was going to get the halogens but the only one they had there looked like an open box unit. Also read about the amount of heat they generate along with replacing bulbs. Overall cost me about $150 for the 2 lights. I hope they are ideal for swirls.

I'm curious to see how that husky multi does, I'm looking at the same one...

It does a good job. It doesn't create any heat and is cool to the touch. My only downfall with it, is it has a short power cord if you have the lights up at the highest setting. The cord doesn't even reach the floor so it just hangs. I bought the smaller hand held unit to set up on the ground for the lower areas of the car. Its about $35. I'm happy with it. I haven't used halogens so I wouldn't know the difference but I choose the LED because of the heat issue. I have a small garage to work in and I didn't need it to be heating up. Unfortunately I don't have any pics to share.

I bought one of these but the 90 watt version that only uses 23 or so actual watts. Put in a clip light. makes my garage glow pretty good. Buying another and a new clip light since my other one is beat. stillhave a coupple halogens also.

I just bought a 500w halagon that sits on a stand and swivels.
20 bucks, I tried it and it shows everything.
So in the future I'll have something that will help me find those nasty swirls.
I'll turn it off while working the polish because it does put out a lot of heat.
