I just got some new wheels and was wondering if opti-gloss will make them shiny? I've used opticoat 2.0 on my old wheels and it didn't have any effect but was curious since opti-gloss made the paint on the truck look a lot glossier than what oc 2.0 did.

Thanks

Yes it will. Try permanon super-matte for your wheels...

•All matte surfaces are not created equal.
-The matte-ness of your wheels may be of a
different matte-ness than another person's wheels.
-Applying the same LSP (Coating) to these two different
sets of wheels can have completely different outcomes.

With that being said...
•How much 'roughness' a surface has, determines
how much "overall matte-ness" the surface will have.
-This is called Diffuse Reflection.

As you stated: Your truck's paint looks glossier
after an application of GlossCoat.
-That means the paint's surface was made smoother
by the GlossCoat "filling-in" much of the rougher-areas
of the paint's surfaces.
-Reflections from smooth surfaces are called:
Specular Reflections.

The point is:
With "looks" being so subjective...How Smooth/Specular
do you want your matte wheels to be?

Note:
Nanolex and Dr. Beasely's, for example,
have products specifically for matte surfaces.

Thanks guys, I'll try a little test spot and see how it looks, I'm fine with it adding a little gloss.
