Anyone using Hose Slides when washing?

I might get chastised for this but I'll go ahead anyways...

DIY hose slider

Take a 5 gallon bucket and cut it off near the bottom about 3 inches from the very bottom. I used a jig saw for this. Then cut it into 1/4's. And done.

I knew there was a reason I've been keeping my old broken buckets. Thanks for posting that. I'll try using them as halves first since I have plenty to spare.

Now wish I'd kept some of my broken ones. Great idea and good way to reuse an item.

These should work pretty well for extention cords too. Was reminded of that yesterday when I was vacuuming out my car and I kept getting the cord stuck under the tires.

Took all of 3 minutes to turn an old 5 gal bucket into 4 hose slides, using a jigsaw...problem solved. Thanks again adamgayton81 for the 'how-to'.

At $14.00 they are definitely worth it and I love using them. That homemade deal made from a bucket looks pretty cool too. Around here we would call that Yankee ingenuity.

I love my hose slides. Use em every time!

I currently don't have a set. I view it as a time eater...I need to get my time on a detail more tight.

I'll just go with a few high quality cuss words and roll on! Grin...

Or you could just pour a quart of motor oil on your garden hose before you un coil it. That outta prevent it from getting stuck anywhere. Lol. J/k.

How are they a time eater? It's not that hard to bend over and stuff it in front of the wheel lol. They can be used during correction work as well.

Honestly it doesn’t take up too much extra time. I keep mine in my cart/bag and as I go around to clean the wheels and tires, I slide one in after I finish each tire...maybe adds a total of 30 seconds to the entire wash process. And as a LSS black belt I stay very conscious about wasted time, and in my time studies (yes I’m OCD like that) more gets wasted trying to ensure I pull enough hose out to make it around to my intended spot or having to go and pull out the stick hose from under the tire.

I just got them from AG - the green ones. Not sure if they would even work. Used them once and they do seem to work. Easy enough to make your own - but cheap enough just to buy
