Anything special about C. Quartz?

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I searched and could not find an answer. After I apply CQuartz and remove it with MF towels can the towels we washed and reused or should the towels be thrown out?

I discovered this last year. Avi had advised to throw them away at the time. I, in my parsimonious nature, couldn't bring myself to do that. So, I mixed up a few ounces of APC (I use Zep Citrus but any alkaline based cleaner will do) in a bucket and threw them in there right after using. It worked well and I continue to use that method to this day.

Richy, can we do the same for the applicator? this one might be more frugal than parsimonious you. thanks for the tip :dblthumb2:

i did throw everything immediately in a pail of medium dishwashing solution last time, washed, stored and never touched them since.

YUP...you sure can. I find it better with those to spray them directly with APC first and then throw them in. I bought a 10 pack just for backup.

I just watched the entire video and those guys are crazy! he spent hrs wet sanding one headlight!!

So was there ever a ruling on whether CQuartz could be used with colorchip?

Paint first
Cquartz after paint is cured

I asked Avi about using CQuartz after touchup paint back in may. This is what he said:

Hi Corey
Normally touchup paint contains a lot of solvents to let it dry quick, the paint would be fully hardened in a week or so.

So normally it is safe to wax / seal it after a week. But because C.Quartz is a bit different I would say 2 weeks.

If you use IR or UV light, this is different story, since its small spots they will cure very fast, so i would say the day after is ok to re coat cquartz. no problem
