Hi guys,

Let me start by saying this is one of my favourite (accessible) cars on the road today. Should my Volvo quit on me, I'll start the hunt to find this exact car (G35 coupe in Black). What an awesome car in so many ways. This car was another referral to me, and the owner was a really nice guy. Unfortunately for his car, when he picked it up used, he inherited a car that had some heavy swirling damage, a chipped to death front end, and what we found out later to be a new and poorly painted rear bumper.

So the bad news, it turns out that when the new owner picked this up he noticed there was a clear bra on it. How is that bad news? Well, remember how I said the front end was chipped to death? Well the old owner put the clear bra on AFTER all of the damage was incurred, so the front end would be laminated for a while.

More bad news, the paint swirling was very obvious just under natural sunlight. If you were to walk by this car from a mile away in a parking lot, you could see the swirling going on. The rear bumper, also looks like it had been repainted at some point in the car's life, as it was a really poor paint job, and it may have been a new bumper all together.

The good news? I get to detail it :). Even better, the owner of the vehicle decided that 6 hours to wait isn't a long time and waited the entire time for it, no pressure right?

Before:

Bear with me, the pictures are many (around 70) and the ending pictures were shot in low light so I apologize. But I'm going to try to showcase the pictures that tell this story quite well.

I apologize we're here so soon, but the sun was quickly setting and all I had was low light (similar to xfactor's g35 detailer). Enjoy:

THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Turned out great. What pad did you use with the SIP? Im going to do a little correction on my 350z soon and have been toying with which product/pad combo to go with.

Very nice job, I would have not been to comfortable with someone staring at me for six hours though!

What pad did you use with the SIP?

+1!! It finished down very well!

I just completed a detail the same way: owner watching the whole time. He was cool and a total gearhead, didn't get in our way, so it wasn't a problem. But still there is a lot of pressure!

Makes me miss my old G35 coupe! The large flat panels make it easy to machine polish, but that's an amazing job in 6 hours. The leather they used back then wasn't the greatest. My seat was pretty worn after only 60k miles.
