Apc???

1) Castrol Super Clean (purple jug)

2) Purple Power (white jug)

Never use Simple Green

Why no simple green?? How about Mean Green??

Why no simple green?? How about Mean Green??

After emailing Simple Green, I decided against it. Its not made for detailing and can damage some surfaces (I was told this by the company).

For OTC, I like Meg's APC. A few of my local body shop suppliers stock the Meg's range.

For one reason on the Simple Green is the smell alone. If you want everything it touches (that holds smells) to have a STRONG pine treeish chemical odor, then it's what you want. If not, look elsewhere.

I have heard ok things about Mean Green, but never used it myself.

The ones Flash listed are good options.

I am a big fan of the detailer oriented APC's however.

Lastly - you stole Rasky's avatar. How are we supposed to differentiate between you two now without actually reading. :poke: :D

I use Zep Multi Purpose Cleaner 1:3....on paint, trim, engine, shuts, etc. No probs so far.

I was at Walmart today and picked up a gallon of purple power for $5.37. I have just finished up a gallon of simple green. I never had any problems with it breaking down metal, or paint or leaving stains or anything. I used it on wheels, wheel wells, engines and my bike(chain). Never any problems, but it cost more than purple power. I also didn't realize purple power is biodegrable, another plus.

I also need some APC. I couldn't find any at walmart. I found multi purpose cleaner and that was it.

Whats the difference between multi purpose cleaner and all purpose cleaner?

I tried some of the OTC products and none of them compared to Meguiars APC. The smell is nice also. Many of my customers have commented they like the smell.

I'd bite the bullet and order the Meg's APC.

Just looking at wheels and engine area..

Meg's APC+ is better, if your going to order some.

Megs APC has never failed me. I use it for alot of different areas of the car with various dilutions.

Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner Plus

Main uses: wheels, tires, engines, interior surfaces and upholstery, exterior trim...

  • 4:1 for heavy duty cleaning
  • 10:1 for light duty cleaning

When the going gets tough:

Meguiar's Super Degreaser

Main uses: tires, engines...

  • 4:1 for heavy duty degreasing
  • 10:1 for light duty degreasing

Because they're concentrated they should be diluted prior to use making them very economical.
