Applicator Pads

Just wondering what everyone is using for hand applicator pads. I have been using Pinnacle foam pads and ccs foam pads (From AG) and Wal-Mart Microtex microfiber pads (2 pack for $2). Are all these considered paint safe (Will not swirl/scratch)? I heard that microfiber pads might create more drag and cause marring and because I am getting inexpensive Wal-Mart ones (they seem pretty nice/soft though) I do worry about that.

I use Chemical Guys Red WAPS applicator(i think its called that, all i know is i grab a bunch everytimg i leave their warehouse) and I also use pinnacle foam ones. I only uses these with waxes though.

Not sure if they are sold individually, but they come with ultima interior guard plus.
 
anymore optinions on foam vs microfiber and if microfiber will marr? BTW I do have one of those Ultima applicators that came with trim and tire guard plus but mine is blue and black.
 
I like foam over microfiber. The microfiber feel like they drag more. The foam are easier to clean too. I just use mf for interior dressings, etc.

Pretty much the same here. I buy those yellow foam pads a dozen or 2 dozen at a time...
 
I go with the yellow ones, cheap and the work. The CCS ones are too big and bulky for most wax containers but they are really nice.
 
I also like the yellow Pinnacle foam pads.
 
I have the applicator pad shown above by ihaveacamaro, and I bought it standalone. I think Adam's makes (or more likely resells) them. not sure since i bought it otc at local detail shop. Was about $7. Have used it for Liquid wax and it worked really well.
I have also used a rubber knob kind if thing called a polishing pal that has Velcro on it and attaches to 4" pads. I used the red ccs pad with wax and that worked well too.
 
Thanks guys I guess foam is the way to go on the exterior. I have used Pinnacle and Megs yellow foam and the Megs seemed more sturdy and substantial. May have just been me though.
 
I bought these the last time I went to Harbor Freight. They are the perfect size and the cloth over foam is of pretty good quality. I don't know how they work for detailing as I have not tried them yet. At $3 for an 8 pack you can't go wrong as an experiment.

CG's UFO pad is also nice, but the polishing pal is really comfortable to use.

I have to agree. First time I used this thing I was amazed. It cuts my wax time almost in half. You can really lay down a lot of wax fast. Now, I never use anything else.

I use foam for waxes. Microfiber for dressings and for getting those hard to reach places with compounds like under door handles and such.
