Ever since I moved last year I have noticed an overwhelmingly large percentage of vehicles on the streets that have serious hologramming. I haven't nailed down if these vehicles are coming from one shop/dealer or what, but I feel obligated to mention it to the owners, and that I can fix it for them.

What is the best-practice approach to get in contact with owners of such vehicles? You always think about just leaving a business card/note on said vehicle in the parking lot. But, I do not like it when people do that to my vehicles and hold myself to the same high standards to not do that to another person's vehicle. Suggestions?

Unless a person knows about swirls and where they come from is doubtful. As long as their car shines and is clean that is what 99.9% of people are happy with. How do you educate general public?

:iagree:

I find that is a huge part of our job: educating people. It's tough, and you can't teach everyone. I know alot of people don't know/care, but I feel I have to maximize every opportunity.

I would try the "excuse me sir/maam i couldnt help but notice.... did you cave your vehicle detailed recently?" And with a yes you can just slide into my name is Rasch_C with discern auto salon and i know we can get your car into better shape than whoever you are using now.... and chat them up... with a no i would offer my card and talk them up about how i could restore a showroom shine to their car and offer to do a no obligation test spot for them when they have time (set up appt if u can) and your free test spot needs to be where they will see it all the time making them aware of the poor condition of the rest of the car... whammo customer

If you've become fairly friendly with a close-by neighbor (and their vehicle is one of those that have holograms) just tell them, in a friendly manner of course, you're interested where they get their vehicle detailed at. Surely they won't mind divulging that info once you brag on how nice their vehicle looks. ;)

{IMO....Pointing out someone's mistakes (holograms) to them may make them feel taken aback somewhat...No one likes to feel like they some how wasted their money.}

Then you can decide to either locate that detailing business and see for yourself their handiwork (I sense you haven't seen any mobile-detailing going on in the neighborhood); or, inform your close-by neighbor that you also detail vehicles; and, since you live right there in the neighborhood, it may be more cost-saving to let you have a crack at detailing their vehicle(s), and the other neighbors vehicles as well.

Show them your vehicle(s)....That should be the first testimonial to your abilities. A portfolio of your previous detailing projects, if you have one---the second testimonial.

May not be the "best of the best" advice....Just something I was thinking about that might be useful.
