anyone have experience with both?

I've used Aquapel before but just wondering if G1 is better.

Any difference?

All the treatments seem to make it so right after the wiper goes past there is a bit of a light haze to the window. Aquapel doesn't seem to be as bad as rainx, just wondering if G1 has less.

thanks

I"ve got rainx and G1 on the same glass right now just for funsies. I have the streaky haze with the wipers but they are due for a replacement.

I plan to clean, polish, and reapply just the G1 and add a set of new wipers and I will see if the smeary haze goes away. I suspect it will.

I look forward to an update.

I love the way the rain runs off a sealed windshield and can't imagine driving on the freeway without it. When big trucks go by and drench your car with water you get blinded for a second without a good sealant on the glass.
But in traffic the short little moment of haze catches headlights and just lights up the glass which isn't good either.

If applied correctly G1 will last 2 yrs. with no haze.

I use G1. Last a long time, my personal favourite. As far as application, I'd recommend a spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol (I don't dilute it) as a residue remover. The one you get with the kit isn't enough to get an adequate removal of residue. Especially if you are doing multiple vehicles. It's a time saver!

On my latest vehicle I used Gtechniq G5 over G1. G1 lasts longer but G5 will shoot water off as little as 25 mph!! Probably the best results for water sheeting would be this combination and to reapply G5 when needed. :xyxthumbs:

Good tip on the spray bottle of alcohol have to try that next time. I've applied G1 on many vehicles and always hate the removal process using alcohol.

No problem! I found it also works well to spray it on the MF towel, wipe, then buff with the other side. Real time saver and a sure fire way to avoid any streaky spots you don't wipe %100

I used Aquapel for a few years and have used G1 for the last few years. I would say both are very good products, Aquapel does not last anywhere near as long as G1 but Aquapel is cheaper. G1 requires more effort to apply to a windscreen i.e. 3 layers then wiped with IPA and a cotton cloth and on my cars G1 works at a slightly higher speed than Aquapel

I've used Aquapel the last few years. It lasts for a good 6 months at 100%, another 2 months at about 60-70%. This is on a car that sits out 24/7 in Northern IL. I apply it in early November. Easily lasts through winter. On another car that's garage kept, It's over a year now and is about 90%. Application is a breeze. I had a full bottle of Rain-X that went right into the garbage after the first time I used Aquapel. Can't beat the price when buying in bulk from AG, either. Never had a desire to change to anything else.
