About 3 weeks ago I put two coats of Duragloss and one coat of DP Max Wax on my truck. Couple of days ago I got Aquawax, and want to know if this stuff can go over the DP Max Wax or is it too soon? Will it bond to DP Max? Thanks for your help.

It will go over it, however as the carnauba breaks down, the aquawax will not have a founndation, and it will blur your car. Take off the maxwax first.

Sorry Ryan, but this is totally untrue. AW was designed to work best with sealants. I used it over Souveran for several weeks with no ill effects, well other than some light streaking from the Aquawax itself. I have also used the 921 over a traditional wax with no bluring or effects. This is wax that has cured and flashed off any solvents prior to its use.

Maybe mines due for another coat then. It was nice and sharp and has since started to unsharpen.

New coat of AW time! :D

AW is fine over a nuba, it's a funky sealant that happens to bond well over a nuba as well. Try that with basically any other sealant and watch what happens when you place it over your wax:D .

I have to agree. I put the AW over my Souveran and it is bright and shining. The paint is clear and I can see all of my metal flakes go snap, crackle pop. :p

I posted this quite sometime ago, but I still think some of the spray on products (some consider them boosters) can be exceptions to the rule of not applying a sealant based product over a cured carnauba layer. AW, OCW, Blitz, FX100 all seem to work fine over carnaubas and they all contain varying amounts of polymer/sealant.

Are you all applying AW to a wet or dry vehicle?

I did AW when dry, after QD'ing to get off any dust or antyhing.

AW works best and looks best putting on a dry surface.....you get a better amount of sealant undiluted on the paint...It is designed to use both ways..but according to DG dry is best way for best result..the reason they say it can be used on a wet car is that the regular consumer will find it good to do it this way instead of multi-steps...

using on a wet car dilutes it and it will reduce durability and shine of the product...

to answer the OP question,,AW works fine over waxes..never had a problem using over any wax...to me it seems to make the wax hold up a little longer as the AW acts like a sacrificial barrier to a point...it added more UV protection.....water repellentcy to keep soaps off the wax to an extent
