Hello everyone,
Forum newbie here. I'm facing a dilemma with swirls on my Infiniti G35 coupe.
The swirls were made by a car care package my husband bought for me when I purchased my car (due to major surgery I was incapacitated for quite a while).
I was devestated when I saw the swirls and need to correct this disaster now.
All advice and recommendations are truly appreciated.

Some pictures would greatly help. What color is the car? I would suggest using an aggressive polish (Menzerna Super Intensive Polish) to remove the swirls and then follow up with a milder finishing polish to really bring out the shine(Menzerna 106ff nano polish). Now to really be effective in removing swirls you will need a machine polisher, a Porter Cable 7424 or Flex 3401 are great choices for anyone starting out. Of course to keep the car looking good you should top the finish with a carnauba wax or synthetic paint sealant after you polish it. If you dont feel like doing it yourself and are looking to care for only 1 car and dont do this regularly you may want to hire a professional detailer to polish the paint and you can save the money on the products.

Some tips for keeping the car swirl free:

-Use soft microfiber towels only, no terry cloths or cotton
-Wax or apply a sealant regularly to protect the finish
-Keep all wash sponges and mitts super clean when washing

I fully agree with dsms, the only thing I might want to add is those swirls were probably not made by the car care products, using a correct method of washing/waxing is crucial in keeping the paint in tip top shape for many years to come.
I highly recommend following the two buckets method when washing your car.

Thank you so much for your immediate reply. I will post a pic for reference, I just have to be in the sunlight. My car is black.
Historically, I have always detailed my own cars - none of which have ever been in an automatic car wash. All my cars have been Japanese so initially I used Zymol Clear Auto Bathe, Zymol HD Cleanse, followed by Zymol paste wax for Japanese cars, using only micro fiber towels. But I was interested in investigating new shampoos/waxes and enhancements and - aha! I found Auto Geek Forum. Most importantly, I knew I needed to address the swirl problem, I was embarrassed and ashamed that I let this happen!
I just didn't know where to start/what steps to take/which products to use. I'll purchase the Porter Cable 7424 swirl remover and willing to perform the job myself. Again, thank you.
