Are these buffer/polishers a no-no?

It looks like the GG6 is the most recommended so far. Coincidentally, I stopped by a couple of local auto parts stores today and saw they both now carry a Griot's Garage 6" DA along with 3 different pads for them. Not sure if we're allowed to post links to outside retailers here, so I won't unless someone tells me it's OK.
 
The code now active on Autogeek appears to be valid on Griots kits.

the pads they sell otc/local auto parts stores are the thicker and larger (6.5") ones. i would steer away from those and purchase the smaller/thinner ones. here's some suggestions on what to get aside from the GG6 as far as backing plates and pads go...
