Are These Pads Still Usable?

Hey experts,

I have two Buff & Shine green pads that are like this. The center of the pad looks "worn" because I may have used an aggressive brush to clean them.

Are these pads still safe to use?

Thanks.

Hmmm, usually when mine get like that, they start chunking and leaving a dusty mess.

Hey Michael, I surely wouldn't toss those pads yet.

They could be used for anything other than an ultra fine finishing step so soft paint. Also could be used with an AIO on harder paint.

I have the same question, but a different symptom. I got my LC CCS orange pad too hot and now it is a little bit concave.

Can it also be re-used as well? I would assume the normal amount of pressure would put the whole pad in contact with the paint.

I've had a pad or two do that. My solution, they become hand polishers.

My hydro-tech tangerine pads look like that, still using them. I will be replacing sooner or later, maybe test out the hybrid pads.

Or, once they start chunking and dusting as mentioned above ... if I can get all the previous product out of them, I cut them into pieces and use them for tire swipes and such. But I'm cheap. :-)

I would use them (if the velcro backing is still good), unless they starting chunking and flying bits and pieces of the pad surface everywhere... that is a PAIN!

I would then recycle them as tire dressing applicators :)

they would be good for rocker panels or rougher areas were you dont care if they get dirty or ruined
