Ariens Deluxe 30" Snowblower and Opti-Coat

The last two winters here dumped a ton of snow and couple that with the wind, I ended up battling 34" inch drifts that were up to 25 feet long. So last year I bought a big Ariens snowblower with upgraded Subaru SX30 engine and it worked wonderfully.
I then decided that today I would completely coat my Ariens Deluxe 30" inside and out with Opti-Coat 2.0. The reason for this is of course for protection but more importantly, I'm hoping the hydrophobic properties of Opti-Coat will help prevent snow and slush from building up inside the machine while using it. It wasn't a real problem last year but I want the machine to operate as efficiently as possible.
I also wanted to get it done well before winter arrives since I've seen it mentioned several times that Opti-Coat takes 90 days to fully cure.

Began by rinsing the snowblower off with the hose.

Then saturated it with Optimum Power Clean at full strength and let dwell. After a few minutes I sprayed more OPC onto a MF towel and wiped everything down. Then rinsed again.

After drying I grabbed some Opti-Coat and began coating every surface I could reach (except the tires).

All done and nice and clean.

Used about 2 CC of Opti-Coat to completely coat everything, inside and out.

That's one kick ass Snow Blower it was the last thing I had to sell before we moved to Florida . Maybe I should start a business Opti-Coat hurricane shutters .

I don't know about ride, but it can definitely drag me to town. Lot of torque.

I wouldn't call it boredom, more curiosity. My brother thought it was a great idea. Anything to try to prevent getting packed snow from building up anywhere inside of it.

With the last two winters Florida has had, you might need another snowblower soon.

I love seeing a "non traditional" use for detailing products. Great use of Opti Coat.

And that is one hell of a big snowblower for using at home. How far will it hurl the snow?

And I must say, I looks better than most of them do down at the hardware store. It's spotless!
