Wouldn't THAT be an interesting HOA meeting.

"And now onto a new topic, the tire-dresser vandal."

Can you explain why you explain tires with a "y"? And why harmful has 2 l's? ;)

Sorry, Mr. Spell Checker :p
Now if u r kind enough to answer my query, i'll really appreciate that.

@imranhakro: Your tirefoam is perfectly fine for tires. Many people still carry this old notion that Armor All is bad for rubber. Armor All did have some alcohol in its first itineration that may have caused premature drying in some plastics/rubber. However, that was many years ago and Armor All has had a reformulated product that is fine.

I have two bottles of ArmorAll original protectant from before I opened my mind to real detailing products, I don't just want to throw them away so what do you guys suggest I use it for? Right now I'm thinking wheel wells.

:iagree:

Armor All "original formula (newer one)" won one of the Guru tests for longevity for a tire dressing. Mostly, it was compared against other OTC products. Just thinking out loud, but there are some tire dressings that contain no silicone.
One of them is Zymol Tyre Preserve (to the person who likes to comment on spelling errors, Tyre is The correct spelling for this product. I believe it's how the British spell it). Tyre's ingredients : Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Tea Tree Oil and Copaiba Root. Zymol is one of the few companies that lost their ingredients, but there are others who claim to be silicone free

Meguiar's Silicone Free Dressing
Duragloss 321 Non Silicone Tire Dressing
3M Silicone Free Tire Dressing
Forever Black Silicone Free Tire Gel
Gliptone Miracle Shine Silicone Free Dressing
Tuff Shine

I have used Armorall Originall (trigger) protectant number of times.
Have not experienced durability at all. The label that mentions UV protection cannot really be verified either.

It imparted some shne on my dashboard that quickly faded away
when I looked at it next morning.

The only benefit Armorall offers with Armorall Protectant is that it is a low price product, and thats because it is mostly water.
The name and armoall picture on label also grabs the eye. that is about it.

After using it number of times, I have really not used it anymore.
