Check the what's new page at, oh, let's say 10 am EST. :dblthumb2:

That page will be the most visited page I think in the next couple months!! We have been listening to all the requests and doing what we can to bring what you want to the geek!

Hey Nick,

Are you planning to do a review on these bad boys?!

Added to my cart. Any intentions for a free shipping block today?

Hey Nick,

If Dr. G follows through and provides me with a life time supply of Opti-Bond Tire Gel then yes, you can expect a review from yours truly. :D

Just kidding Marc; I'll do a review soon enough. Im the MAN

Added to my cart. Any intentions for a free shipping block today?

I'll see what I can do Tim. :dblthumb2:

I didn't see anything about a "break in" before use, so I'm guessing this block doesn't require it? Also, any idea of expected # of lifetime uses for the block?

Kind of disappointed with optimum. Anyone who has seen my videos knows I love Optimum Power Clean and all optimum products... to release a product like this that is both late to the party and has already been done by numerous other companies is a shame.

Chem guys Clayblock V2 Surface Cleaner Clay Alternative

Ultima Elastofoam

Speedy Surface Prep Towel, speedy prep towel, clay towel, sm arnold clay towel, clay bar towel

Nanoskin AutoScrub Fine Grade Wash Mitt

Nanoskin Autoscrub System Start Up Kit

The irony of the product page quote:

product page said:
Optimum Polymer Technologies is an innovator in the car care industry

I would call this following not innovating.

It's too bad, because now I have to say I LOVE optimum products... but one. lol

Optimum's approach to the clay bar alternative is unique and unlike the aforementioned products; Opti-Eraser(s) utilize an advanced acrylic resin, not a rubber polymerized coating. This makes the Opti-Eraser(s) less prone to marring the finish while still being very effective at removing contaminants. With the Opti-Eraser, there are no ridges or grooves; the acrylic resin face is perfectly smooth which is ideal for those finicky, softer paint systems.

The Corvette wasn't the first car introduced, but I'd say it was well worth the wait. :dblthumb2:

hmm interesting info for sure Nick. When I saw the product and how similar it looked to this

Ultima Elastrofoam Paint Cleaning System, paint cleaner, paint cleaning foam

I figured it was the same. In your review, do you think you could test one of the products I listed against the Optimum block to see if there is a difference in the real world?

Also, how many cars is it good for?

Might have to slow down on the assumptions in the future :xyxthumbs:

The Ultima block removes contaminants at a faster rate, but it doesn't provide any feedback to the user regarding what's happening on the surface. The Opti-Eraser is grabby at first, much like a clay bar. Which one is better? That depends on what you're looking for along with your level of experience; I would feel more comfortable giving the Opti-Eraser to a beginner as it doesn't require a "break in" period and it's generally less aggressive than the Ultima block.

The number of applications is going to vary based on the size of the vehicle, how contaminated it is, proper use of the product, etc. It will definitely last longer than a clay bar, put it that way.

Might have to slow down on the assumptions in the future :xyxthumbs:

I would say that's a good idea. Products and even processes are constantly evolving in this industry and if you assume that "it's all the same" you'll be missing out on a lot of cool new products. :dblthumb2:

Great insight Nick. I would like to try out these for sure. It sounds like Optimum really designed these to be more sensitive to the paint unlike the results with the Autoscrub pads. I would like to see if Opti-Erasers are less reliant on warmer temps than the Autoscrub as well; to be far I don't know if any thing is meant to work optimal on paint in temps below 50°…
Always love when OPT comes out with products. Even if a little later than competitors it seems they put the proper R&D into everything before just throwing it out there to the masses. Really sets OPT apart IMO.

Very exciting stuff. Alot of products on that page.

Kinda glad I didn't jump on the nanoskin bandwagon right away. Now I see optimum has a similar product but in the shape of a block.

I'm just gonna sit back and watch more of these products start flooding the market so I can make a more informed decision based on reviews.

That's one to try...I heard the opti-lens was supposed to be coming out this month also...anyone know if that's still on schedule??
