...in life. How? What does this have to do with detailing, or operating a detailing business, or any part of our lives for that matter?

NOTE:
Clciking on the link at the bottom of the page may offend some of you. If it does offend you please be professional enough to refrain from posting and hijacking my thread. This thread is meant to encourage people in a way that, before, they might not have considered. So, what does this have to do with detailing, or operating a detailing business, or any part of our lives for that matter? I want those, myself include, who are trying to start a detailing business (or any othe type of business) to be successful. Sometimes in planning, and in retrospect, we forget one of the most important things.

Bare with me folks...I'll get to my point in a moment, but first I have to lay a little groundwork, or foundational bricks, if you will.

Do any of you remember Mike Phillips' article: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...ing-your-car-s-paint-s-maximum-potential.html ? For those that recall this article the paint on this auto required special care and attention along with extra effort to take the paint to it's maximum potential (the rest of you click on the link above).

Since joining Autogeek I've met some really nice folks both in person and through posts and pm's on our forum. I've had the opportunity to give some encouragement to folks, both in detailing and in their personal lives. I've never once failed to reply to a pm. Why? Because I'm all about helping out when I can with every ounce of energy and know-how that I have. I enjoy sharing knowledge and giving encouragement...even when I need it myself at times.

This is about giving of yourself when you really don't have anything to give. Time, money, words, an ear. It's about encouraging others when you're in desperate times yourself. Helping when you need help. Blessing others first, so that you may receive a blessing later.

I really like Mr. Phillips' philosophy of, "Each one, teach one," and we can apply this in so many ways in our lives. I just love it. Thanks Mr. Phillips! :dblthumb2:

The knowledge I have to offer as a detailer isn't much, it's all I have. I'm learning new things each and every day as I learn more and more in a field that is relatively new to me.

Even though some of us try to learn as much as we can, be as professional as we can, mentor as best we can, and teach as best we can, some of us...hobbyists, detailing busineses, and humans in general...haven't reached our maximum potential. Why? Is it because we're not putting forth extra effort...more than 100%? How do we do that?

Well, here's my point folks. Someone shared with me today the link below. Folks, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I share it with you because...well...maybe it can show you what you've been missing in order to take your business and your life to it's maximum potential. It will require something on your part, though it will require more than...

... Mathematics

Thanks for sharing Bill!

I like the power of words, numbers...
But it's a higher power that gets me through each and every day.

You're welcome, Bob!

I was able to log into the Matrix and fix your link: Beauty of Mathematics - YouTube

OP fixed as well.

Thanks, Ray!:props:

...looks like I have a little more work to do.

:iagree: I think we all have more work to do.

Of all the people in my life that could have shared this with me, it was my dad who was looking out for me. Thanks, Dad! I love you, so much.

And that's who helps us to do our best each and every day. Thanks for sharing.

:thankyousign:

Thanks Bill. Best thing I've read all day. Very interesting.

Thanks for sharing that Bill.

It is only through having and striving to improve upon a personal relationship with GOD, that I've been able to come this far. However it doesn't seem very far some days. It is a real struggle some days starting a business and for me, while things are moving along at the shop I'm in financial dire straights waiting for the next few checks to come in the mail.

At least I know they are coming but being flat broke "right now" trying to run a business is quite stressing. It's easy to get discouraged but the sun will rise tomorrow and if I am so blessed, I'll get up and do it all over again and find a way to make things work.

I look at the news and at the photos of people with real hardship, so many people are suffering the serious aftermath of this last storm and some still dealing with the aftermath of past storms and of course people who have lost loved ones to tragic accidents and poor health. I sometimes feel guilty for watching this all unfold around me and thinking of me and how grateful I feel when I see all of that stuff.

I can always look around and find someone who has it worse than I do when things get tough but it's a faith that regardless of what happens with worldly possessions, business ventures health etc. things will be OK that allows me to continue on when things feel like I just can't.

It's taking the time to help people out regardless of having your own personal hardships that really defines one's character. I've found that when you become known as a person of action and you strive to be helpful to those around you, a lot of people come for the help that you so freely give...even those who are not willing to help themselves.

Knowing the difference between helping someone, and enabling someone can sometimes be difficult to do. However you do get good at spotting those people resting on their own laurels with hands outstretched willing to take whatever you're willing to give. I am very careful about this and as hard as things can get...so far...I've remained willing to be helpful and freely give of myself when I feel like I have nothing left to give. Some days I just want to turn my back on everyone and serve only myself but I know I won't do that.

It is tough, and seeing things like that video you posted here helps one to keep their head up and it reminds me to just have faith no matter how tough things feel right now. Thank you for posting it. TD

Thank you for sharing, Bill and Dave!

Thank you for sharing, Bill and Dave!

I can hardly explain how exciting it is to be able to touch someone so far away, but I'm certainly glad I can. Wow...that's an awesome feeling.:dblthumb2:

Awesome! Going to post this on my church's facebook. :)

About a week, or two, ago there was a forum member...maybe two...that seemed to be having a bit of difficulty in their life. For those people, and anyone else, how about some words of encouragement from a friendly little:bump2: .

Thanks for sharing Bill. There is a book called Think and Grow Rich that deals with success as well. Great book for looking at life differently. Desire and attitude go along way but spirituality with the universe takes it up a notch. One key thing is you must be happy with yourself and not care what other people think. It's YOUR life NOT theirs.

Again, thanks for sharing. :)
