This client came to me as a referral from a newer client of mine.

He believes one of the sunroof drains is clogged and leaking into the rear passenger floor pan. When I arrived there was about 2 inches of water sitting in that area.

I also informed the owner that I could not guarantee that all mold would be removed or that I could get the smell to go completely away. A full interior tear out is going to be needed. He is going to tackle this himself and may call me back in to clean all the parts when he has them out of the car.

Equipment Used:

Vapor Clean Gaia - Steamer
Terry cloth towels - Were all thrown away after
Various MF's
Various brushes
Air-Zone Ozone Generator
Rigid Wet/Dry vac

Products Used:

Folex
OPC - Diluted 3:1
303 Aerospace
Stoners Invisible Glass
Lexol Leather Conditioner

So after sitting in 2 hours of traffic to get to this clients home. I inspected the vehicle to find the mold issue was far worse than I was lead to believe. I informed the client that I would be charging more than initially quoted over the phone.

Onto the photos!

This was the puddle I mentioned.

Overall the interior cleaned up very nice. The musty smell was still there even after running my ozone generator for an hour with the heat running. However it was much better than when I initially arrived.

Thanks for looking! Now I'm going to go take another shower after looking at those photos again! :bolt:

I think I would have fainted walking up to my car seeing it like that! You did a great job of cleaning it up. I wouldn't mind paying extra for that.

Was the person driving the car like that?

Nice job on the cleanup.

LOL No he wasn't driving it. It's one of his project cars that sits a lot. He has 4 cars total, 2 he actual drives.

Now quick, tell him to sell it before it all comes back!

jk, Great job Jason. These jobs are always iffy but you did a good job. Very smart to educate him and warn him that there should still be more work required to fix the problem.

Nastiness, pure unadulterated nastiness! You performed an amazing turnaound on that beast Jason. You work always has and continues to impress me. Well done brother!

BTW, a good way to get that kind of job out of your mind is to take a nice winter trip to Hawaii. Maybe you can make that happen.

That is one awesome transformation! I can honestly say that this is the first ti∅me I have looked at before and afters and my jaw dropped open when i saw the afters. Incredible!

Yeah I think I can swing that! Feb 1st can't come soon enough!

nice work sir! how long did this take u? i cant believe he didnt have u remove the seats/carpet. how long did it take you? i dont even know what i would even begin to charge on a job like this. i think i would start with $40/hr. i just dont see how to possibly get all of it out.

with that being said, GREAT job Jason! hats off to you for even taking on this job, and those after pictures are jaw dropping after picking up my jaw after seeing the before pics.

Thanks everyone! Definitely earned my money today!

I did tell him that everything will need to be torn out and cleaned. He wanted the initial cleaning done so he could get to work on that. Plus because of the water issue the passenger seat motor is no good and he can't move the seat to get to the bolts.

It took me about 6 hours.

There should be a section for epic saves. This would be one of them. Great work SeaJay's!

That was a mess. The owner should consider putting a tarp over the sunroof to try to avoid that problem again.

Good job on cleaning it all up... I'm afraid it will probably come back with it being as bad as it was.

I suggested the tarp idea to him to help avoid more leaking.

Thanks!

Good freakin goodness!!!! This is incredible! Did you wear a mask when detailing this car? I would have worn a nuke suite. Amazing job!
