Evening all.

This is a car that I carried out the work back in June, so you can see how far behind I am on write up's.

Contacted by the owner after him seeing the Merc AMG I did and he not wanting to do it himself.

Car was dropped off for the week and I did it over a week. Not hundreds of pics as I just like to get on with the job but thought you would like to see it.

As you can see pretty dirty so was given the usual wash method and clayed.

The process was taking hundreds of paint readings all over the car and then wet sanding through the various grades of wet paper 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 and 4000 grit papers and at every stage taking even more paint readings.

Once the wet sanding was taken care off the car was then polished back with a wool pad and Scholl S3 due to the hardness of the clear, polished again with Scholl S17 on a yellow 3M pad and refined with Ultrafina on a blue pad. Car was then wiped with IPA and GTechniq C1 applied to the body and wheels and G1 applied to glass.

Not a massive write up as I did not take too many pictures as time was against me and my photography skills are not great, I would just rather get on with the job.

Hope you enjoy it. :Picture:

Wow! Great work! The owner must have been thrilled with those results.

Awesome job. What was the paint reading before and after?

Since you sanded, did you add a new clear ?

No read below dude.

On one panel the readings were 178um before wet sanding, after flatting the readings were 172um and after polishing and refining the readings were 169um. I have done normal compounding on cars and taken off more paint, the thing is wet sanding takes of less but takes 3 times as much time hence people don't want to spend extra Pounds for the finish.

Didn't realize that Audi had such thick cc. (178 mic).

Hey there Mirror Finish, great job once again on the TT, it turned out phenomenal. Quick question, where can one learn how to properly wet sand? What's your story about how you learned how to wetsand?

Thanks and have a great night!

Your work is very impressive. Thankyou for sharing. I know the customer had to be blown away. What paint gauge do you use?
