Auto Detailing Day at Tuscarora Dave's (South Central PA)

It dawned on me today that I am going to spend all weekend getting my car as clean as humanly possible, then proceed to drive it home on the PA Turnpike for 90 minutes where it will become absolutely gross again. Ugh...

Maintenance will be covered on Sunday night, yes? :D

I see a lot of Waterless Wash in my future.

I see very few maintenance washes coming to me. When I see a car or a van in my shop it's usually teetering on needing a restoration more so than a detail, so I do my best and get it done.

The attendees coming to the event will be your teachers as to maintenance washing. I've learned a thing or 2 on the subject over the years despite not specializing in it.

Good Luck with the class Dave. Looks like it's going to be a good turnout

I also have that same steamer at the shop so there's no reason for him to bring it other than to have more than one on board that day, which shouldn't be necessary.

Ahh i apologize, missed that on my phone.

Yes, we will not have a need for two. :)

I will bring a quart of DP rinseless wash and gloss for you.

DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss, no rinse car wash, concentrated no rinse wash, quick detail spray, waterless wash

You shouldn't need more than that after your ride home :dblthumb2:

Well, with the paint correcting talent that will be present (everyone else more so than me) we'll get your car sorted.

Do we know what LSP we're going to use for the Mustang?

WG under 845 (your new purchase - great combo) or other?

I apologize if this has been stated already.

LSP? What's that short for? :D

Yep, after reading a bunch of threads about it, I thought WG with 845 on top would be a good combo.

I'm also hoping to see some cool samples for my exterior trim and interior plastics and vinyls. Defintely want the inside looking and smelling as awesome as the outside.

Tomorrow my steamer comes and we are expecting temps in the 60's. So guess who is probably steam cleaning and conditioning his leather seats tomorrow? THIS GUY!! Need to watch some videos tonight to prepare.

Awesome man, thanks much!

I was trying not to spend too much ahead of the event (that went right out the window) but somehow I missed picking up a rinseless and waterless wash. I live in an apartment complex where regular washes are a no-no, so this is a critical need. That and a good QD.

Don't mean to cause widespread panic or anything but be careful how close you run the tip of your steamer to your car's interior pieces and materials. It can melt stuff and cause permanent blemishes if concentrated too long in the same spot.

Just go slow at first until you learn what it can do.

Thanks Dave. I figured I'd watch some videos and try to get the right technique down. I usually see folks running the steamer with a brush attachment which keeps the tip itself from contacting surfaces. I've also seen some folks wrapping the brush with a terry towel.

Yes, I don't want to melt anything!

Lsp- last step product. Your wax or sealant or coating.

NP. It's the least I can do.

it'll do you good for a while too. as with most things - a little goes a long way.

I have the following that I can Bring

PoorBoys ProPolish
PoorBoys ProPolish II
PoorBoys. EXP
PoorBoys. trim Restore.

I will not bring the Collinite 845 as some one else is bringing theirs.

I will have my Flex 3401, GG6", and PC 7242 with associated pads and extension cords.

I will also bring a few other things if I can fit it in the vehicle.

Will we be in the shop or outside. Just want to know if I should bring a canopy with me.

The Poorboy's stuff will be a blast from my past. I think you should pick Pockets up on your way down.

Andrew's mustang will be in the shop, everything else will be outside.

The canopy is up to you. Do you have something to hold it down with in case of wind? I can't be responsible for damage caused by canopies.

Hey Dave

I thought I read somewhere in this thread you where going to use some LC mf pads.......do you have or anyone else bringing them?

The reason I ask is I have 2 new ones.....I had a trip planned to New York that week and was going to make a suprise visit......but unforturnetly I have had to cancel that trip.(Got notification today of a out of town job that is starting that week)

I would be happy to send them to you and anything else that you might need.

Just let me know.

I can also bring you the Pinnacle WW and Rinseless for you to try out as well.

Have weights that hold it down. Usually don't need more than that.

I would happy to pick up pockets. His store is not that far from about 20 minutes.

That would be icing on this multiple layer of detailing cake goodness. :)
