Is it brighter I don't think so but is brighter better not always. I picked up the husky 2500 lumen led light with stand for $60 used but you can get them new at hd for $100 new. I like it because it's just the right amount of light and it's there is no heat at all. I like the diy setups as well but it was easy for me to just buy one ready to go.

This is what I am looking for.. I have seen it in a shop in our area..

I will see what I can find out using a light tunnel

That is a sweet looking setup. Now imagine there were IR lamps in there as well. Winning!

Right now I'm thinking Sam's Club car park tarp kit. Toss tarp, line frame with white LED strips. Win?

T8 fluorescents would be significantly cheaper and render colors much more accurately. Pop up canopies aren't extremely sturdy for that use, I'd look for a temporary winter car shelter and use the frame without the fitted tarp. They are almost invariably made from galvanized steel tubing and held together with bolts and wing nuts. Up here every HD or hardwares store sells them in the fall, and come spring they are all over Craigslist. A 10x20 brand new shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred bucks. The lamps to light it up can add up, though.
