it seems like most of the information we gain about auto detailing (and pretty much any other topic of interest) is obtained on the internet. i have nothing against the internet, it is definately a great and revolutionary resource. but there are times where staring at a screen for extended periods of time can get annoying. so yeah i was pretty much wondering if anyone can recommend any good literature about auto detailing?? its kind of nice to have something to read before i go to bed or while on a plane, and im getting sick of car magazines lol.

Not trying to be a ass but why not just print the articles that you find out for a good read later. thats what I do when I'm at work.

well a lot of the information i find is on message boards like these. i also like books. it just feels much more satisfying to me to open up a book rather than messing around with a whole bunch of papers.

Yea, and posts are usaly small in size and you read a lot of them thats a lot of paper.

I'm in the process of writing two.......

How to detail and how start a mobile detailing service. They will be illustrated and also show the marketing techiniques to acquire and keep customers.

Heck, this may be the cover!

I've been in the process of reformatting OCDetails.com for awhile now. One of the things I'm doing as I update the guides and articles is to format them in an ebook type format. That way you can just open the PDF and print it out in a nice to transport way. I'm definitely not saying my writing is the Bible of detailing, but if you like to read about other methods that have worked, then that is what I try to provide. They aren't exactly printer friendly in their current layout, so I'm trying to fix that.

Justin, just write 1 book at a time, do I have to come down and light a fire under you ???????

People are waiting for this book, when do we go to press :D

I bought a detailing book a long time ago. I think it was "Ultimate Auto Detailing" or something like that. It was pretty bad (although at the time I thought it was OK). I think if you do a search on Amazon you'll find a few.

I have a 24" montior.. makes reading sooo much less stressful on the eyes.

I originally bought it for for school. Lots of research, and projects...

Maybe you should invest in one of these..

the problem is writing books, just like watching movies does not feed the "i gotta have it now" syndrome the internet has brought to our life. Plus it is relatively free, and you dont need to get into a car and drive down the block to hry instant gratification and knowledge.

the other benefit to internet, is multiple sources can be validated quite quickly. For instance, Justins book could be all full of b/s (just joking) but visiting several local detail sites will give you best practices from the masses relatively quickly.
